ScoreMobile BlackBerry Edition Scores Big for Sports Fans!

Score Media Inc. announced that their mobile application ScoreMobile has topped the 1 millionth download for a Blackberry application. When I read that headline I knew right then that there is something to this download.
If you follow me on twitter you know I'm a huge fan of all sports. Yes, it may just be a guy thing but as a Berry user as well, what better combination could the recreational sports follower experience.
As I'm reading about this application it was an eye opener to find out that Score Media Inc. had only launched this seven months ago. PC Magazine rated ScoreMobile as a "Top 20 Free Application" for BlackBerry smartphones.

“ScoreMobile is about convenience and simplicity,” said Dale Fallon, Director, Mobile, Score Media Inc. “Time and time again we hear from sports fans who personally recommend ScoreMobile to their friends and family – sports fans wouldn’t let sports fans use anything less.”

With March Madness fast approaching and yes let us not forget the granddaddy of them all...The Super Bowl plus the never ending cycle that is the sports world, learn about some of the features that ScoreMobile can offer.

Blackberry App World states that ScoreMobile is currently supported for most Blackberry devices and is available to all countries and carriers.

    Best of all....It's Free!

“ScoreMobile makes it simple and easy for users to follow sports in real-time, and is a great example of how the BlackBerry platform can be leveraged to provide an even richer user experience,” said Jeff McDowell, Senior VP, Business Marketing and Alliances, Research In Motion.

    From Blackberry App World:

    Personalization:

    • The Dynamic Home Screen Icon is a unique feature of ScoreMobile for BlackBerry® where the application continues to monitor in the background the league or game which was last viewed.
    • Users can personalize Favorite Teams and Data Refresh intervals.
    • Game start times are customized based on the Time Zone setting on the device.

    From ScoreMobile:

    • Up-to-the-minute boxscores
    • Fantasy player stats
    • Dynamic home screen icon
    • Live blogs
    • Detailed game previews
    • Detailed recaps

This has been on my berry since it released. You can't find a better sports app. Tons of features and just recently they added video to the app. A must download :fing02:

Not on my storm2. You need to hit memo key and exit or the app will continue to run in the background...and that WILL use memory. Great app.

You are correct Orio, but I think he's more concerned about a leak. So far, I haven't had any issues with this. Memory is solid with it running in the background.

Only time that I experienced a memory leak with this app...was when I left it running in the background....so I just make sure I close the app.
