Foursquare is another social networking approach, that - after having created your free account with them - allows you to check-in with places (so phones with GPS required). It then will tell you recommended places to go to such as parks, restaurants, cafes, bars, and the like. Moreover, it will tell your current location to your friends. Having checked in some place, write your own recommendation to help others in finding great places. I've had this for a while. Decent app. Still needs work. But I still use it alot.

Thanks! Updated with this version. So far noticed it shows my geo location address under Places tab with this new build.

This version 1.0 for, let's say, public beta, closed beta is a little bit higher version...

Just downloaded and am interested in what this is all about. Been seeing this on twitter....should be a fun application.

Does this work with touchscreen? cause the other version wasn't too touchscreen friendly.

Under notification settings I selected to show pop up alerts when my friends check in, but they don't seem to work. I had previously selected to receive emails for check ins, but it became too annoying :)

is this "for the whole world" ? it cant seem to find anything in argentina, with a verizon storm 2.

I´m form argentina too, my berry its a 9700 and this soft is excelent and works perfectly.

Foursquare, the new type of social app, presenting you location based services from friends and the whole world of users, has just released another update in the current beta, just two days after we've reported the leak of version 1.0.0.

Well, at least here on my storm it does not really give me the full storm feeling, but I am sure it is worth to be checked out !

good: now i can click everywhere on my storm 2 9550 from verizon (unlocked and using it in argentina)

bad: verizon AGPS/cell tower triangulation restriction to only verizon GPS app and BBMAPS, prevents this app from knowing where i am... (it screws ubertwitter too).

it looks the same to me, perhaps it works better inside (coding part)..anyway hope to see a much better version coming soon :)

got an update prompt from 4sq ..it's 1.0.3 now
