Thread: Any Blackberry app developers..."restrict my identity" shortcut?

I'm not sure how hard this would be to make but it seems rather simple and very covenant .

Anyone interested in making a shortcut/Launcher to the "restrict my identity" option in the Blackberry Storm.

Or some info on creating one?

You could either set it in your Phone/Options/General Options and set to restrict "Always" or you could purchase QuickLaunch and set it to open your "Phone Options".

You could also dial *67 before making a phone call :haha:

or you could use 123spoof and pretend you are someone else

I realize there are other ways of doing this. If someone were to create such an app it would clearly be the best method for the following reasons.

- Going through Phone/Options/General Options and set to restrict a number is cumbersome if you plan to turn this on/off frequently. (quick launch would help ease but not eliminate all these steps)

- *67 requires you to manually dial the phone number along with the *67. This again is very time consuming and takes away the convenience of one click dialing directly from your contacts.

- 123spoof is a great program but going through a server side program and using up precious app mem when all I need is a quick way to turn on/off the a feature that is already on my phone doesn't seem like the best option.

I have looked through a variety of options and the best one I could come up with has not yet been made available.
By posting this I am hoping someone with the know how agrees and makes this an available option.
