CES 2010: OnStar shows off an app to control the Chevy Volt

Sounds a bit like James Bond driving his BMW remotely, but will become reality with the launch of the Volt, Chevy's electrical car. OnStar and Chevy just gave a demo on CES 2010. The OnStar app is designed to remotely control some of the car's functions, such as start charging, locking/un-locking and even starting the car itself. Moreover, you will get real-time information on electric range, miles per gallon, battery level and charge status. Well, what are we missing here, no real driving via the berry? Too sad! The app will be available for all BlackBerry OS 5.0 devices and also for iPhone and Droid.

This is gonna be awesome! Just wish I could afford the car. Lol

I would think Onstar could start any car that has Onstar installed, right?
Then couldn't the app tell Onstar to start it?

I think, I've read somewhere, that it should work with other onstart systems
