Quicklaunch updated to 2.16
Looks like QL has been updated again.
New Features in 2.16
* Multi-click Launching
You can now configure QuickLaunch to launch an app / function with a double, triple or quadruple click of a convenience key. In QL Options set the convenience key option to 'Multi-click'.
If you have QuickLaunch to run from a convenience key a multi-click of your convenience key will launch your configured app/function. If QL is not set to run from a convenience key you can still start quicklaunch from Icon or a hotspot from a QuickLaunch supported theme and then double, triple or quadruple click the convenience key and your configured setting will launch.
* Backlight Brightness
You can now set a shortcut to set the desired brightness of the backlight.
A handy feature allowing you quickly dim or brighten the screen.
* Note: Please re-configure your Location ID for the weather. Yahoo weather is currently changing the location id's and your city's id may have been changed recently. According to y! ahoo zip codes are being phased out and eventually only Location ID's will be accepted. So go in to QL Options and read the new instructions for obtaining your Location ID.
This update requires a device reset (battery pull) after installation.
Were is the update, I cant find it on the QL website?
I got a notification of the update last night from MobiHand and downloaded it from that site.

never understood the point of quick launch.....you still had to press buttons to get where you wanted to go so it just doesn't make sense to me
Its all about Shortcuts my friend, shortcuts.
And it makes alot of Apps obselete
The way it integrates with your theme
Back & Restore
For me its the most configurable program for the BB, its should be native as far as I'm concerned.
From the website -
QuickLaunch allows you to setup an unlimited number shortcuts to various functions such as Websites, Email, SMS and PIN addresses, Phone numbers, 3rd Party Apps, Videos, Images, Audio files, Screen Capture, Device Info, Weather, Bluetooth and WiFi Toggle, Camera and much more! In addition to these you can also launch Blackberry Options, Calculator, Calendar, Tasks and even the App Switcher. Configure a convenience key to activate QuickLaunch and when pushed a menu will pop up showing a scrollable list of your configured actions.
The QuickLaunch popup menu can be set to appear on the Right or Left side and can be shown on virtually any screen so you can perform any action without backing up and navigating through your homescreen and folders saving you time.
QuickLaunch will also improve the performance of your Blackberry by allowing you run the Memory Optimizer, Delete your call logs with one click, clear your Event Log and also perform a Device Reset (reboot). By using QuickLaunch you will be also be able to remove other apps that perform functions that are already built into QuickLaunch thus increasing the free memory on your device.
QuickLaunch does not run in the background taking up resources. QuickLaunch runs only when it’s opened allowing you to choose your previously configured shortcut, function or 3rd Party Application. Make your selection by highlighting the menu item you want and if your device has keyboard you just the desired key and your off! QuickLaunch then exits until you run it again. No doubt that Quicklaunch is a good program. I used it since march when I had to launch an application before I could add it to Quicklaunch. But I also purchased ShortcutMe which I think is more powerful. Quicklaunch is getting many of it's new and good features from ShortcutMe. Multiclick feature and application list are all from ShortcutMe.
The only reason I still prefer ShortcutMe over latest version of quicklaunch is that I can create shortcuts with 1, 2 or 3 key combinations. Quicklaunch's only one shortcut key is simply not enough for a shortcut program:17:.
