The free eReader app can be either downloaded following this link with your berry browser or here to get the off-line installation package. The latter one is a full desktop installation, that can be added to your berry by unzipping, and selecting the GOAL.alx file from within your App Loader.
Goal.com and Handmark® have just introduced a new app for mobile phones to follow their soccer coverage. And in this case BB is the first in line, iPhone, Nokia and Windows phone will follow later. The free eReader has a direct mobile download link or a separate PC desktop installer. The service is for free, but remember that due to updated content there might be additional data charges depending on your data plan.
But here comes the best part of it. Celebrating the introduction of their new mobile reader for Blackberry Goal.com has set up a contest, where you can win a free BB 8900 or 8520. The quiz will run on a weekly basis and started yesterday...so 6 chances to answer the weekly 20 questions. The correct answers have to be submitted via emai to blackberrybattle@goal.com with Goal.com links to support every answer. Deadline for submission is every Thursday, winners will be announce the day after.
Read on in the next post to find the questions for week one.
The app installs and runs smoothly on my storm with OS 5.x - I only had to change the connection type from direct TCP/IP to BIS-B (settings/account), but this will of course depend on you individual data plan.
The app comes with several pre-configured feeds, such as breaking news, World Cup 2010, Champions League, coverage of soccer news from England, Spain and Italy - but also lets you customize you own feeds.
