Thread: BerryWeather 2.0 Now Available!

I've got 5.0 installed and working.... it has a great feature set but still very slow in updating. Of 4 locations 2 are updated and 2 have failed and are retrying - this never happened with the 1.5 version. Perhaps their servers are just busy tonight with the rollout.

Is there any way I can verify if it is the 5.0 or the 4.7 that is installed. On the about screen it identifies my device as the 9530 (and you were right, my activation code worked fine) .... as a matter of fact it was still installed which is why I wanted to be certain the 5.0 is installed.

Hmm that is a good question. There is a Bellshare Mod on the site, I will direct him to your post so he can provide some insight.

By the way... all four of my locations are now up and running fine.

I can't see any difference in the version # between 4.7 and 5.0 so I am not certain if there is a way to tell them appart. I definitely downloaded the 5.0 version this time.

Maybe the developers have an easy answer.

Yes it will if it's the new BW2.0 code they are 12 digits long. Your device should remember the code but keep it somewhere safe.

You've brought up a good point. The only way to know is in fact the name of the .jad file. adding it to the about screen is a good idea.

The updating issue is something I haven't noticed. It does take a little longer with the first update please keep an eye on it and if the problem persist's let me know.

I have it set to update hourly. I'll check tomorrow and see how it is doing.

Based on the .jad file it is the 5.0 but there is nothing in the program or the about screen to verify that. It would be a good idea to add that with future versions.

Another potential problem is the one I encountered initially. I received an email from the crackberry store (where I purchased version 1.5) that an update was available. There was nothing explaining that there was a version 5.0 available..... only the 4.7 because my listed device is the 9530. When future updates become available - how will I be able to download the 5.0 versions instead of the 4.7 ones. Do I change my device in my crackberry store account? I guess I may have to run that question through crackberry.

I have that problem as well as mobihand has my tour linked to the 4.7 version. You could change the device to the 9550 that makes sense or when you get the email come and visit us at bellshare we will always have all choice's posted on the homepage.

We will continue to make improvements and adjustments as well. Within the forum we run public betas for the apps as well.

i loaded it onto my storm 2 and it can not lock onto a location and it will not give me a radar picture, otherwise perfect!!!! i did not have a problem with the earlier version, what gives???

Go to settings, then "general settings", and see what you have it set on under "Get current location from". Mine is set on "cell location (GPS fallback)". I have an S2 and it's working fine.

It has been reported that Henrik at Bellshare has been working with server issues.

The release of this new update may have put a bit of a strain on the system. It is being worked on as we speak.

Should be working fine now he found a bug in the server that was causing the lag.

One issue that has arisen through the night is mobihand is preselecting the version your are downloading as per your device NOT your os. We do have a 5.0 compatible release which will give the 8900,9000 users the updating homescreen icon (which is not supported on os 4.5 and 4.6)

We will do our best to correct this very quickly but in the meantime please get your new BW2.0 activation code from your store. You may or may not have to download the app it's self. Once you've got your code visit us at http://m/bellshare.com/berryweather and you can select the 5.0 version

As of now My Account at Mobi has me slated for the 4.7 version.

Just downloaded the app. Keep getting: "uncaught exception: index 3 >= 2."

Also, I get a "N/A" over my icon.

Any ideas?

Yes pfugler states he will be updating those devices with solely 5.0 official os's ie 9700 and 9550. As the 9530 and 9630 dont have a uniform 5.0 operating system they may or may not have an option to choose the BW2.0 version.
Once he's contacted mobihand we'll know more.

sounds like a bad install did you unistall BW1.5 first. Try a battery pull first if that is unsucessful uninstall BW2.0 and reload it.

visit Bellshare - BerryWeather to ensure you have the correct version for your OS
