If you loose your phone, you send yourself an e-mail with the term"location" and your password and the phone will send back a Google map with it's location push pinned on the map.
If the phone is somewhere you haven't been it means someone has stolen it ot picked it up. At that point you can send an e-mail with "contacts" and your password and it will send you back all your information on the phone in an e-mail. Then if you don't want anyone to have your information you can send the "wipe" code and it will nuke your phone.
I keep alot of stuff on my phone, airline pin numbers, employee information etc. It is nice to know I can keep it away from anyone who might "find" my phone
This is very confusing for us idiots. Do you set the email address in the app to the phones email address that the app is loaded on? Lets say you lose your phone and send the location alert from a friends phone does the app send a response back to the friends phone? I tried it and it sent an email alert to the original phone what good does that do me if the phone is LOST. It would work much better if it could auto send it to whichever email address that the email alert request originates from. Am I doing something wrong?
You need to set it to an email address that you can get to not on the phone... Like for instance my @bbos email I can access through webmail so I use that one. That way I can get it f the phone is lost. But it is the address I have the app registered to

My Experience with e-GPS
e-GPS has features that look very promising. However, the implementation of this program, fails miserably. The program fails to work consistently. The locate feature or the alert feature will occasionally for me, but the majority of the time, the commands seem to do nothing.
I contacted customer service and they suggested a battery pull. I pulled the batter again (also did it when I installed the program) and the results did not improve. I then emailed customer service back multiple times without a response. After a couple of weeks of no response, I asked Felix how I could get some assistance. He asked me for all of the various details on my Blackberry, what other programs I had running, etc., so he could send to the programmer to determine what the issue was. I sent this info off, and never got a reply from Felix or the developer. After several more weeks of no responses to emails, I asked for a full refund since this program does not work. Felix has refused to provide a refund. Blackberry App World will not respond either.
If you want to take a chance that this program may work, go for it and I wish you good luck. If you ever need technical support or customer service, good luck on getting any response. If you do get a response, I doubt it will help resolve the issue.
I suggest you save your money you would pay for this program, and instead go with the free version of SmrtGuard. I’ve used it for a few days, it works consistently, and their customer service is vastly superior to that offered for e-GPS.
Hey josh welcome to . I received an email from mobihand just today saying that the app was updated to version 1.1. I did try to update but it keeps sending me a link for 1.0 . I am sure their link is just not updated yet. Hopefully this will correct your issue. I have to agree that v 1.o was indeed sparatic in operation.
Both are great programs. I have never had any trouble with e GPS or smart guard. And as far as customer service I can't attest to because I have never had to use either. You do need to use an email that you can acess some where besides your BB. Like a yahoo or other web based account.

This is a great app...
My wife is known for loosing her BB, and we were about to use e-gps force ringer and find her phone. She keeps the damn thing on silent and then losses it in the house. When she lost her PERFECTLY working 8110, I bought her an 8900 to replace it. We found the 8110 4 weeks later!!!!! Wish we had e-gps then!
It's one of those funny things, like a safe or insurance, that you spend money on and then never use (or hope to use). My eGPS just sits in a hidden folder collecting dust. I'm sure I'll be happy to have paid the low cost when something does happen.
