Thread: StormSlider Screen Lock with default lock button?

I asked this a few weeks ago, but never got anywhere with it. How easy would it be to create a 3rd party application so that when you press the lock button on the top of your phone it goes to the StormSlider screen and you have to slide the bar to unlock it versus the factory lock screen where you press the button at the top again?

I wouldn't think it would be too hard for someone out there to create that. Have you seen the new pattern lock app that is out? Maybe that will hold you over until someone makes something like what you want.

Seemed like there was an explanation of this over on the crackberry forums, but I used the storm slider app. and I simply put it on the top right corner of the screen and seems to work really well. The app seems to work very well and doesn't seem to bog the phone down.

anyone know if the Storm Slider works while on a call? Or can you suggest an app to lock the screen when talking?

From what I've read, I don't think it does. I use Talklock, and it works great. I've been using it for months. It used to be free, but now, apparently, it is only available through App World and is $2.99. (See HERE)

Hey beachbunnimom, I just came across this free phone lock app called Stormlock by Joe Krill. Looks like it has all the same functions as the other premium lockers.

I just downloaded stormlock to see if I like it ...just deleted Talklock! (I got Talklock when it was free) Stormlock does exactly the same thing as talklock but I like stormlock better because its a black screen whereas talklock is a bright orange/yellow. Here in California it's illegal to drive while on the phone, so the bright colors just light up my phone, & my face if I answer it, for about 20 secs. until it dims. Stormlock being a black screen, is a lot better, although the slider is white (wish they'd change that).

you can set it to turn on in calls in the options, which is in the options icon on your home screen

ok, just found one i like even better than stormlocker. Patternlock is a nice app, & it's free right now @ crackberry downloads. I used promoo code "patternlock1" & it was free. This seems like the coolest so far. Still haven't tried storm slider

Bear I know Pattern lock can be assigned to the lock key

The storm slider app does this. It didn't when it first came out ago but the current version does. Press the lock button (on the top of the phone) and to unlock slide along the bottom. I used it for a long time and it works great. However when pattern lock went on sale I picked it up.
