    Blackberry App World Screwy

I downloaded BeWeather form App World then later I deleted it. Instead of deleting it, an icon appeared on my main screen that says BeWeather(archived). When I delete it, AppWorld gets deleted too. If I re-install AppWorld, BeWeather(archived) shows up too. I don't undrestand this.
Why can't I just get rid of BeWeather and leave AppWorld?

Hmm not sure as I don't use App World personally. But I have heard of this happening before. Unfortunately I cannot remember if/what the solution would be.

Same thing happened to me with an app called Snap Screen. I finally got tired of re-installing App World and just chose to hide the archived program. Any one got a fix for this?

    i think i've got it

when you delete apps that have been installed by App world, and you delete them, it keeps cod files for later reinstall....the only way to get rid of them is to go to your app world, and click on myworld on the right hand side, that'll give you the list of all apps installed and archived...then you delete the one's you dont want archived...in your case beweather....

i had a look at the file system on BB through the PC and it keeps all the COD files..
dont delete them that way, otherwise they'll stay on your BB registry and you wont be able to get rid of them...do it through App world....

after you delete them, it'll say uninstalled....then a BP and walla...it should be gone....

let me know if it works...

im just testing it myself....im upto the battery pull..

    hope it helps

App world stores backups on your media card so that when you install app world after a fresh os install, you still have your apps. If you want the archived file gone, access your file system and remove the stored cod from your media card.

what i explained before...works perfect...you gotta remove it from your myworld...and do a battery pull...if you delete anything from the file system manually...the icon will still stay on your phone....

It won't delete. When I click on delete nothing happens.
