Posting tips

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to share some tips for those posting in the Admin section of BBOS. These tips will help us out when trying to troubleshoot an issue you may have with your server.

1. Please state the version of BES you are running.

The best way to do that is by:

• Go to the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel applet
  
• Locate the reference to "BlackBerry Enterprise Server", select it and then click "Click here for support information.".
  
• The publisher listed should be "Research In Motion" and the Version will be the version of BES installed.

2.Identify your messaging environment. For example please specify whether or not you are using Microsoft Exchange, Novell Groupwise, or IBM Lotus Domino.

Although the first method will most likely tell us this info it pays to be completely sure.

I personally do not have BES, and I'm not an admin, but I think it would be better (easier for members to understand) if you could clarify a bit more on step 2.
