Thread: PowerMat...have you seen this?

I just saw a commercial so I may be late to the party on this one but there is a product out there now available at Best Buy called Powermat. Basically it wirelessly charges several electronic devices including the Bold, 8900, Pearl and the 83xx. You simply install one of their battery covers and then place the Berry on the "power mat" and it charges. They claim it charges the devices quicker than the standard power supply and it stops charging when the battery is full to conserve power and battery life.

Now if they had a storm version I would be on my way to Best Buy right now to get one.

Has anyone out there tried it?

I read about this a few months back, but never tried it - would be pretty sweet if they had a storm version - pretty cool idea,safe too. You can touch it,throw yer keys on it, whatever.

I also saw this commercial at the same time and went to check it out. It's $99, I also read an updated post at engagdet: Powermat wireless chargers unleashed into the atmosphere, for real.

It sounds great, but you also have to buy the receiver sleeves, but it did look great!

$99 dollars seems a little steep, but if the thing is pretty much unable to be broken I could see how the price would not be so much an issue. Great Idea and it looks very sleek.
