Thread: Smartest cover screen protectors for your storm

First of all I would like to say thank you to the community for all of the great info here! I have a 9530 and with the help of everyone here I was able to get it working successfully on ATT. With the good advice from several users I was able to swap my radio to .90 and have had nothing but good times with my Storm.

Now I want to share some little tidbit I found recently that made my Storm1000 times easier to use. It is called SMARTESTCOVER, it is an invisible keyboard for the Storm that is applied like a screen cover. It provides a tactile guidance system for the virtual keyboard and has helped my typing accuracy soo much. Since I am new I cant post any links but if you Google it you will find it in the top 10 results.

i've read some reviews and it's really hard to get down with no bubbles. i also use my keyboard in portrait and landscape so it would be a nogo for me.

Yeah I dunno I guess to me that defeats the purpose of a touch screen, its broad in touching ability everywhere without some obscure piece of plastic thing over it... To me it looks like someone took a piece of invisoshield and put tiny bumps in it... I also use both types of keyboards... If it helps users... good deal, im glad they made it, but its not for me imho!

Welcome to BBOS! I have seen this before and the concept is neat but I think the execution is some what poor. You can only have the keyboard in one orientation. Either portrait or landscape. can't do both and if bubbles are hard to get rid of then thats a bummer.

Pl share with me the process to swap the radio file. Also pl post the old & new Radio file links. I am on 4.7.151 (4.0.0.186) on 9530
Also pl indicate what benefits u get with .90 file as compared to one you had with OS.

Yea definitely a no go waste of money for me, I have seen this in the past and those that tried it also thought it was a waste of money and ended up taking it off.

I think it completely kills the idea of a touch screen. Plus I swap between portrait and landscape modes multiple times through out the day. I do wonder how well the bumps work with flick scrolling now though.

I did not have a hard time getting the bubbles out, I did have a few from specs of dirt the first time. The second time I applied my cover I just misted the back of the cover very lightly and put it on with no air bubbles. (An old window tint trick I learned years ago when "pimping" out your ride was the only thing to do before blackberrys came along) I can post some pics if anyone would like.
As for the keyboard orientation I was sad too, but I realized I only use in portrait most of the time and it wasn't a big deal especially once I realized how much easier using it made my life.

Thanks for the info tt24. I use portrait mode most of the time also. Except if I'm typing something that suretype won't let me type out lol.

Still sounds like an interesting idea.
