This weeks fight..Jawbone Prime vs BlueAnt Q1?

The fight is set and confirmed. JawBone sent me their new Jawbone Prime and BlueAnt sent me their new BlueAnt Q1.

I will spend three days using the JawBone Prime checking every feature and possible situations. Then I will use Q1 for another three days and put it to the same test. After each set of three days, I will post up my findings, pro's, con's. We will see who the winner of this fight is.

Who do you think will win?

I have both and IMO there is no question what the winner is, it's Jawbone Prime but a long shot. Don't get me wrong BlueAnt has some cool features but as far as best in call quality, style, and noise canceling the Jawbone is a breed apart.

I look forward to your results. I can say that I am no longer a Jawbone fan. I spent hard earned money to get my long awaited Jawbone 2 only to have the cover come off in the first 6 weeks. VZW would not insure it and my nice letter to Jawbone came back "Thanks but no thanks." It still works but looks like the Terminator. Money down the drain.

    No Love for Jawbone.

Well, I will be testing it good. I have never used blue headsets before. Never really cared for them but I will be doing a good in depth review.

Sorry to hear that. Was the warranty only 30 days? I would be pissed too.

I have a Jawbone 2 and the only complaint I have is that it is not loud enough. Hopefully they fixed this issue. Other than that (really minor) complaint I AM A HUGE JAWBONE FAN!!

    Thumbs up Q1 ftw!!!!

After using JB's 1-2 (both failed miserably), and being an avid Blue Ant user since the z9..... I'd have to go with the Q1.

Blue Ant has fantastic cs and you really can't beat the firmware updates that you get (JB doesn't offer any for their products that I know of, please someone correct me if I'm mistaken).

There is nothing currently that can compete with Jawbone Prime's noise filtering. This is because it is the only headset that filters audio by monitoring the vibrations of your voice when directly touching your face(jawbone).

If absolute noise reduction is what you are looking for with a little style, Jawbone Prime is the way to go.

If you don't need the best military-grade noise filtering but still want a similar look and one of the next best noise filtering, go with the BlueAnt. The blueAnt also has the feature of voice control, but don't most recent blackberry's alreay have this feature? Sort of a waste for a phone with voice activated dialing already.

I also suggest looking at the Plantronics Voyager Pro as it's audio processing is very good for BOTH incoming and outgoing data. It's cheaper, doesn't have the voice activation built-in (depends on your phone) and has a more professional/office style.

Nice write up. I have the Jawbone Prime and BlueAnt and IMO the Jawbone reigns supreme. I did try out the Plantronic Voyager Pro and that was one of the best sounding bluetooths I have ever used. to bad it is just so darn ugly.

I've had a JB2 for about a month now, and I'm startring to like it. Finally after like the 20th earbud, earloop combo change, I actually got it to stay in my ear without popping out, and flopping around on my face when I turn my head.
No matter where you go, there you are

I agree I bought the original and the second Jawbone. I returned them both because they just weren't loud enough. I bought a pair of Razor sunglasses with the bluetooth headset and I'll tell you these things are top notch. So until Jawbone does something about the lack of volume I will not be buying any more of there products. So Jawbone gets a big thumbs down from me.

Here that. I don't even like talking on the phone for more time then it takes to find my bluetooth.

I've had the z9 (flashed with z9i firmware v1.1, works like a champ!), z9i, and the wife has the v1. All of my Blue Ants worked flawlessly.

As for getting a Q1... it seems to be a pretty hard bt to acquire around here in Las Vegas, NV.
Sprint can't seem to keep enough of them in stock (especially the latest batch with the new .15 firmware for better incoming and out-going sound).

As for my issues with JB 1 & 2, fitment and build quality. With the JB1, I went through countless ear pieces and hooks... the hooks would never maintain a snug enough fit to keep the JB sensor pressed against my jaw. I had the same issues with the JB2 as well... with the added bonus of the JB2 coming apart just like Spidersweb's.
Yet another problem I had, was how the JB1 & 2 would lose contact with my jaw with the slightest jolt from turning my head. :261:

I've also written and left messages with Aliph's customer service about these issues with both models, and never even got one reply.:disappointed:

I hope that Aliph finally address these problems with Prime.

I've also gave the Voyager Pro a run, but had fitment issues and one helluva time trying to get a comfortable fit while wearing glasses or shades.
As for the sound... it was one of the best that I've heard from a bt to date.
But the dated design and it's bulkiness is what did it in for me.

Looking forward to your final assessment on these two bts.

Still testing the PRIME out. Found a flaw I don't like.
