I have a Jawbone 2 and the only complaint I have is that it is not loud enough. Hopefully they fixed this issue. Other than that (really minor) complaint I AM A HUGE JAWBONE FAN!!
After using JB's 1-2 (both failed miserably), and being an avid Blue Ant user since the z9..... I'd have to go with the Q1.
Blue Ant has fantastic cs and you really can't beat the firmware updates that you get (JB doesn't offer any for their products that I know of, please someone correct me if I'm mistaken).
You are correct JB does not offer firmware updates. btw do you have a Q1 or just z9?

If absolute noise reduction is what you are looking for with a little style, Jawbone Prime is the way to go.
If you don't need the best military-grade noise filtering but still want a similar look and one of the next best noise filtering, go with the BlueAnt. The blueAnt also has the feature of voice control, but don't most recent blackberry's alreay have this feature? Sort of a waste for a phone with voice activated dialing already.
I also suggest looking at the Plantronics Voyager Pro as it's audio processing is very good for BOTH incoming and outgoing data. It's cheaper, doesn't have the voice activation built-in (depends on your phone) and has a more professional/office style.
Nice write up. I have the Jawbone Prime and BlueAnt and IMO the Jawbone reigns supreme. I did try out the Plantronic Voyager Pro and that was one of the best sounding bluetooths I have ever used. to bad it is just so darn ugly.

I agree I bought the original and the second Jawbone. I returned them both because they just weren't loud enough. I bought a pair of Razor sunglasses with the bluetooth headset and I'll tell you these things are top notch. So until Jawbone does something about the lack of volume I will not be buying any more of there products. So Jawbone gets a big thumbs down from me.
