Lightbulb Problems wit BB OS 10 and Bluetooth.

I recently bought a BB Q5 with the new OS, came from a BB 9790, and am very glad I did. OS 10 is excellent. But I ran in to one small problem.
I have paired my Q5 with my car stereo and can make and receive calls. When I turn off the car, the status on my Q5 keeps saying connected. Enabling and disabling Bluetooth has no effect, it keeps saying it's connected to the car stereo.
I have used my 9790 in the exact same way and the phone would auto connect when starting the car, and disconnect when exiting the car with no problem. I can only make the Q5 turn off Bluetooth if I do a full reboot. I'm running BB 0S 10.2.0.424. Does anybody know what's going on and how I would remedy this?

The best remedy that I can think of is to load a leaked os. There isn't much you can do with the bluetooth alone and there are many new features and enhancements since that old 10.2 you have (including bluetooth enhancements) and I've read about many issues with that 424. I highly recommend the latest 10.2.1.1925 OS and the newest radio file is available now too. I loaded both onto my Q10 yesterday and it's one smoooooth operating system.

If you aren't familiar with loading leaks, check right here on BBOS for detailed instructions AND the os files.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I have read that those leaked OS files are released by certain providers? Does it matter if I'm in a different country than the source of those leaked files, compatibility wise?

The only thing that matters is the phone type/model and for the Q10's and Q5's, the leaked os's are all the same. So just find the 10.2.1.1925 OS for the Q10/Q5 and you are all set.

Loading a leaked os might seem a little daunting at first, but I promise you that once you do your first one, you'll be an expert and will never have to rely on carrier os's and their updates.

I've searched and found the 10.2.1.1925 version for the Q5 and used the guide that's posted as sticky on this forum. I went from a minor inconvenience of no Bluetooth in the car to a major list of problems I now have with my phone. It refuses to play my mp3 files which were on my micro sd card. I have reuploaded them from my computer, knowing they play fine, but the phone refuses to play them in the music player or as ringtone. (Unexpected Error (9)) BBM refuses to start, giving me an error: "No BlackBerry Data. No connection to server". Also, BlackBerry Protect doesn't work anymore, with error: Can't make connection to BlackBerry service. try again later" All in all, it went from bad to worse. I hope downgrading to my earlier BB 0S 10.2.0.424 is still an option? I'll be trying that tonight.

Try this first: Do a security wipe on your phone and then reload the leak. Sometimes when loading a leak, the 2 os's conflict. A clean wipe with a fresh install should clear up your issues.

*The os is solid and well worth having!*
    BB then, now, forever!

Is there a way to do a security wipe, reloading the new OS but not lose my text and call history?
Before starting the upgrade, I backed up my phone with Link. Can I safely restore the backup onto the newly installed OS 10, or will I again muddle the 2 OS's together ?

You can restore using your previous backup, which is what I always do. Some people like to do "clean installs" and start fresh, but I hate having to reconfigure and download everything.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure I'm in capable hands. So, I've secure wiped my phone, reloaded 10.2.1.1925 and before I restored my backup, I've tried to play MP3's and MP4 video files (This includes video files shot with this phone). No go. It is as if there are no media codecs in this release to handle multimedia files. the weird thing is when activating my phone as a USB device, BlackBerry Link can play the MP3's just fine, that are on my MicroSD card. So I'm confident they are not corrupt. I was able to activate BlackBerry Protect, that's a plus. The app TuneIn for listening to webradio also gives a stream error and does not play any music. On my previous OS Tune worked perfectly. Please, could you tell me how I get back to 10.2.0.424. This one clearly isn't working for me.

Here's the link to your OS. 10.2.0.1791

    https://mega.co.nz/#!bAo0kYbD!a9VrHA...apeRmikLklFFfg

It's odd that the 10.2.1 leak is causing so much grief. I use it daily and MP3 play fine.

If you are interested in trying 10.2.1, I'd try downloading the OS from a different source. The file may be corrupt in some manner.
Check out my apps! Download here!

Try this link?!? I did a little research and heard that some files are corrupt coming from certain links.

not to take over the thread but I am having the same problem with my Q5 running OS 10.2.0.1803, I looked for a leaked OS but could not find one on this site, I did find one on another site and followed the instructions here but after it was all said and done still have the same problem. It will not disconnect from bluetooth and I cant even shut bluetooth off on the Q5 it turns right back on. I would try it again if some body here had a OS 10.2.0.1803?

Have you tried other Bluetooth devices?
Or you might want to wait and try 10.2.1 when it officially comes out for your device via your carrier
Thanks for visiting and enjoy using your BlackBerry!
Please my post if it has helped you. Much appreciated!
