Is The "App Gap" Closing For You?

This is primarily for those running the leaked 10.2.1. I'm on the 1055 leak so I can load APK files directly now and to me it's closed the APP gap for the most part. There's still some job specific apps I can't get or get to run right. But for every day use apps it's pretty muched been closed for me.

    What say you?

I was good with apps when BB10 first came out, but I'm a simple guy who doesn't play games and is all about communication. Everything since then has been a "bonus" and I'm enjoying some of the new apps and a couple of droid apps that I've been able to download straight to my phone. These are exciting times in the world of BlackBerry and it's a fun ride for sure!

I think it does...to an extent. It could make the Android devs sit up and take notice of BlackBerry. Then again, it could cause them to say, well, why should I make a built for BlackBerry app, since they already run?

It closes the gap a bit but I'm not an all out gamer either. I like just a few of the apps we can't get for BB10.. But I'm sure time will make it close up tighter. It's a great leap forward..

And that's where the BlackBery folks make the appeal to Google/Android's bottom line. Imagine how much more money they could make and their app designers coupld make if they did "Made for BlackBerry" versions of their apps. Android and all app developers IMO need to continually broaden their base of users. The response from BlackBerry Nation should convince those app developers that are on the fence that they should develop their apps for BlackBerry as well...that the demand will be there.

I wonder if the originator of that statement regrets those words now?

They are definitely on the way to closing the gap. At this point though it almost makes sense to fully adopt the Google Play Store with BlackBerry World. If that is possible.

Almost. If I could get Google+ on my Z30 I would be 1 happy camper. I don't see that happening though. For the most part, the app gap has closed for me.
