    Blackberry service.

Torch 9800 ie BB6 emails receiving is good.
Z10 ie BB10 emails are only received if service provider's is good.
Alot of times the signal is just 'e' ; 'gsm' ; 'g'.
Hence Z10 becomes useless compared to Torch 9800.

We definitely lost some great legacy features with the Z10. Some will return in future updates, some will never be seen again.

All in all, we have gained WAY more than we lost. We have some incredibly amazing hardware in a beautiful package here. The future is an exciting time for us and I can't wait to see it and be there!

Useless, is a pretty harsh word for the Z10. The Z10 is a pretty sweet device that some carriers are holding back or "hobbling " its true potential. It isn't the perfect device, but, it comes pretty close for me. Maybe, for the people having slow push of emails or browsing speeds, it's time to pressure your service provider to start providing service. We pay a lot of money for a device and service that is becoming more essential for a lot of people. It is not always the device that is hindering performance. Carriers want us to keep upgrading and spending money, maybe it's time we ask them to do the same. Just sayin.

    Hi,
Did not mean to be harsh on Z10.
Excuse me for using the word useless in reference to the push mail feature with the current network services for Z10 working only if the 3G service is good.
For three years my experience with Torch 9800 was great with the same provider have BB service which is not so with Z10 depending totally on 3G signal if good for which Z10 has no compare.
    The carrier is BSNL.

I totally understand what you are saying, Carlos. I am guessing that the new way of doing things with the Z10 was influenced by the way the carriers wanted to support BlackBerry, in part. The BIS fees that they paid to BlackBerry for each user every month was one of the things that the carriers were not particularly fond of. When everything was going through the BlackBerry servers, we had more consistent email and messaging that was compressed and encrypted and sent out to the end user. That was also very efficient data use and most of us didn't need a large data plan. The larger data use makes the carriers a lot of money and we the end user pay for it and are now dependent on the reliability, or lack of, of our selected service provider.
I can completely understand why you would expect the same type of service that you have with your Torch. We are now in an unfamiliar position, and it isn't meeting everyone's needs. I miss the BIS also, but, the new video chat, screen sharing, wicked fast browser are making that a distant memory. I live in a rural community and had the pleasant discovery of having LTE rolled out the other day. Each day brings me a better user experience. Sorry for the long winded post.

    Hi John / Lucy,

    Thanks for the support.

BlackBerry should also find ways and means to support BIS for Z10.
For instant yesterday was a rainy day in Vasai, Maharashtra and so is today.
BSNL signal was very bad till afternoon now. Rather it usually is so.
On switching on to wifi, I could get through with my mail.
It's like I have the best gun available but no bullets.
I hope the carriers understands the vanity.
    Hence BIS is the need.
LTE is only a dream for us.

BIS didn't make your signal stronger or faster. So it shouldn't make a difference on your connection.

    Hi AVPTI,

BIS is the BlackBerry push mail service.
Excellent service never had any problems with Torch 9800.
This service is not applicable for the Z10.
    I wish it was.
