Thread: Z10 OS UPGRADE

Hi all,

I just bought the Z10 yesterday however I noticed this STL100-2 can't support Whatsapp due to unsupported OS. Mine is 10.0.9.xxxx and the supported OS must at least 10.0.10.xx. I've tried to update from device & Web however it says the OS is already the latest (could be carrier dependent I'm from Malaysia). Any workaround to proceed with the updates?

I have a Verizon Z10 and it too has the old OS. Verizon and BlackBerry are aware of the situation and I'm expecting a new os hopefully soon.

There are workarounds that might, or might not work. First, create a backup using BB Link. It's been suggested to either try to update using BB Link with your SIM card taken out OR if you have access to one, install a different sim card from a carrier that has the newest os. With a different sim card installed, if it doesn't automatically prompt you for the os update, try BB Link.

Keep in mind that these are only suggestions that I've read about. I have not tried it myself, but I have read from fellow BlackBerry users who have with success. You can take it for what it's worth and you proceed at your own risk. And always create a backup before giving it a go if you choose to. Please post back on what you do and how it goes!
