First Image Of BlackBerry 10 Superphone Revealed

The first image of the BlackBerry London, RIM's first BlackBerry 10 phone has surfaced. This is a far cry from the earlier leaked photos that we saw last year. However, it does give us some real hope that the BlackBerry 10 devices are almost within reach. RIM has been giving us hints about this device for quite some time now, and if you look at the picture closely it may remind you of something else.

If your thinking BlackBerry PlayBook then your on the right track. Late last year then Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis, was asked what the QNX-based phone would look like he then held up a PlayBook, and said, "like this." The look is fresh, and steps away from RIM's traditional style devices that many have become used to. It is actually similar in nature to a Samsung or HTC device. It looks like its out with the old, and in with the new in the design department for this device.

Looks are one thing, but there has to be something under the surface as well. This area has also been revamped with the addition of a QNX-based OS. What we do not know is how it will handle. Will it be similar to the PlayBook in its multitasking capabilities?

There is little on the hardware specifications, but it is said to ship with either the
TI OMAP5 or Qualcomm chip-sets. Both of which are 1.5GHz dual core processors, so far it seems as though this device may be able to handle its self quite well.

As of now it seems as though getting a hold of one of these devices will still require some patience. RIM has already mentioned that we wont be seeing any BlackBerry 10 devices until later in the year.

If that is what BlackBerry 10 is going to look like, to be released later on this year, that is one beautiful device.

    I want this!!

I for one, love the iconic RIM keyboard, so I'm sure the next model to be released, needs to have a mix of keyboard, and excellent touch responsiveness.

This looks way better than that first leaked pic of the London.

I too would like to see keybord models.
Looks nice but, like the article said, a bit HTC ish...
That's what would keep me from buying it, to much of the same. Its difficult to tell whats HTC, Samsubg etc these days, when using a BB you KNOW its a BB
It does look better then that Porsche toughscreen look a like we've seen on the web.
I say, wow us RIM we (the loyal, not the hype followers) deserve it

I like the slab look. I think its different and that's really what we want. I give credit to RIM for stepping out and making a completely different device. I really think this one is going to be a great phone.

Agreed, I too think it's a (Bold) step in the right (and maybe new) way.
Time will tell and I hope new devices will look real new and not a dime a dozen like most phones out there.

Exactly, it's what we want in a full touchscreen device. We want a powerful OS with a simple sleek design that works as well as the competition. It sure beats this...

While I like this design, I wish RIM would shorten the damn thing a bit.
