Isn't it illegal to sell a device like this?
Yes it is, the devices are the property of Research In Motion.
Absolutely! Selling it is theft! I hope they catch the dumbass who is trying this stunt.
There have already been a couple sold on Ebay for about $700. I don't think RIM will do much about it though. The not for resale is there just to cover their ass.
Maybe not illegal, but definitely unethical. On the other hand, a $1000 could maybe get me two BB10's.......:)
Yea, don't understand why one would spend a Grand on a device that will be obsolete, other than they are just a hardcore collector.
I think its up to us as a community to get the word out to potential buyers who may not have a clue that these devices are crippled and will be paperweights in about a month. Most of the listings I've seen are misleading, and a few outright lying about the device. PSA's, anyone? I know I'm running one on the QuickBerry Podcast on Monday. Besides, the Special Edition BB10 device will be waaaaaaay more collectable.
I'm sure RIM will catch those who are selling them on ebay ;)
