My wife just received an iPad 16G from her work. Any members here have one? What do you think of it? Beside using it for work, what else can be done with them?

My brother has the iPad 2. I haven't had too much hands on experience, but he tells me he loves it.
One thing I liked about the iPad is being able to play a huge range of games on a 10 inch tablet screen.
Will she be able to download whatever apps, or is that monitored because it's a work related device?
Well, IMO the iPad is more of a I-want-to-use-Games/the Internet-outside-of-my-house kinda device. There are some great apps that help you, like Wolfram Alpha's app, but other than that I see it as a portable time-wasting device :p
I'll be sure to try it...if I ever get one. I'm not too keen on jumping on board the tablet bandwagon just yet. I'd rather get an upgrade to my PC, since when I'm outside the house, I'll be doing things I can't do inside my house, which means I won't be using a tablet in that case. The iPod Touch 5g, however; is slowly dragging me in to its trap of awesomeness...without even being released yet.
Tablet is the way to go if you have enough cash to get one. I love it mainly for portability. It's nice to be able to do basically what a laptop can do at fraction of the size. Browser is my main feature, which is why I don't have an iPad right now. Flash is too ingrained in our daily web experience and the PlayBook handles it very nicely.
Yes, but isn't it sometimes annoying that you're ALWAYS connected to the world? (Sure, you're the owner of an awesome BlackBerry Forum, but that doesn't mean you can't have a rest!)
I find it easier to relax when I'm not, for example, checking BBOS for some new posts :p
