so now who wants to create a desktop BBM?![]()
Would this be just for those with a Storm or for anyone? Reason I ask is that this is posted in the 9530 forum.
its for any berry lover!
Baby you spaguetti?
Okay, I will move this thread to Software/App Development as it is more appropriate than the 9530 forum.
I have used a product that let's you use your desktop to view your ? screen and whatever is going on. It is called impratia via dock (I think that's how to spell it) and its a great idea. It lags a lot and when your blackberry screen dims your view on the pc monitor also dims but iy could be good. I used it mainly for group disscusions on bbm.

If I'm not mistaken, BBM messages are encrypted. That virtually makes it impossible for a third party to access it, meaning only RIM could release something of the sort.
If I'm wrong on the other hand (Possible of course), then an app could be made to transmit the BBM messages to a database (with the required parameters like read, unread, etc...) and a desktop app could be made to pull the messages. Then to send one, it would insert into the database and the app via BBM would auto notice there was something new and send it out over your BlackBerry BBM.
It wouldn't be a true "Desktop BBM" it would be beating around the bush, but it is a Desktop BBM regardless. :P
Just an idea, I would have loved a Desktop BBM.
Edit: Meh, I didn't notice this topic was really, really old..

I didnt see it was old either but I put my note up last night and I know there is a lot of interest in something of this nature. As I said before impaatia viadock is a good product that does exactly what these guys want it just needs some fine tuning and some good testers to report on it.
