in celebration of their new app store, verizon is having a developer contest for a rim compatible app starting august 14th and ending september 20th.

cool deal is you can submit as many of your apps as you want/can and they will all be eligible for winning the prizes which are in my eyes absolutely amazing

the categories availible for entry are :
•Connect (Social, Networking, Communication tools, News, Weather, and Sports)
•Entertain (Games, Entertainment, Music, Video, Books and Multimedia)
•Guide (LBS, Travel, Dining)
•Save Time (Productivity, Tools/Utilities, Business, Finance, or Reference)
•Enhance Living (Lifestyle, Health, Security, and Shopping)

grand prize gets $50,000 as well as...wait for it...200% profit on their app sales for the first year and so much more lol!

the "peoples choice" winner gets $25,000 and 100% profits for the first year

the 5 different category winners get 10 grand a new verizon phone worth up to 500 bucks and a $2000 verizon wireless gift card!
