Thread: How to get more app development tutorials

hey everyone,
I'm new to BBOS and i joined after my job required me to develop apps for BBs.
For the past 2 days I have gone through a few tutorials that taught me how to do a basic helloworld, add a few text-fields and buttons etc, and the basic tutorials i found online end there. Then the others I found were pretty darn complex ones. So havent exactly been able to follow those.

I want to learn a few things like
1- adding colours and making it a bit more colourful app.
2- connecting to a server and getting some info thats in a XML format
3- Loading the app onto the BB (right now i do it on a simulator, and i got a problem connecting the BB to 'Blackberry Desktop Manager' but thats a story for another post)

I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

Have you checked the developer community on blackberry.com? There is a lot of info on the site.

Yes, BlackBerry has a great developers program. But if you have already been through their material I'll see what I can conjure up. I have some tutorials I have to dig up on some of the topics you are speaking about.

Haven't heard anything yet on this, but if you have a PlayBook I imagine that it won't be a problem to use the Android version using the PlayBook's Android Player.

I would like to get some information like this also... after developing a few things on Android platform, Blackberry is not an easy thing to learn... but i hope time will do his job so i can do mine

I hope to see as many tut as posible. It's hard to learn for me.

RIM has been posting a lot of samples on their github page. That is a good source for picking up code samples to see how different features work.
