    Skype to Blackberry; Keep waiting


    Well many of us have been waiting on a Skype application for our blackberry. We had been told May 2009, well its now closing on May 2010 and still no app! For those of you that don't know Skype is a PC based app that uses VOIP to make calls. You can call any Skype user for free, the biggest feature is the ability to make much much cheaper international calls. One thing we don't know, will the app provide true VOIP on the phone? Although I think we have seen two leaks of the beat version, Skype is still in private beta testing. Hopefully we will see this app before May 2010, I however am doubful.

    I'm still waiting.. not holding my breath of course. But it would be nice for there to be an App for Blackberry, it seems like there is an app for everything else.

    Would love it, but e.g. my carrier specifically says that I am not allowed to use Skype on my BB

    I for one am waiting patiently for this! I am so done with iPhone has this and iPhone has that. There are a ton of BB users out there that need this!

    www.faceflow.com is a cross o/s programme that offers the same as skype but with the added bonus of conference calls. The programme is free and can be accessed though your browser. Both need to join, as in skype. Playbook to PC, Android, iphone. PC, Android, iphone to Playbook. The developers regularly post updates and it would appear that there will soon be an app for all the platforms.

    Way to dig up an old topic!

    Anyway, yes Faceflow coming to BB10 will be nice. Having used the website I can't wait.

    Bear in mind that Skype IS on the BlackBerry but only for select carriers. It's a poor imitation of the apps on other platforms though.
