how hard is it to develop a program
hi im new to this development
i wanted to know ow hard is it to develop a program for the blackberry storm..
Good question! - From time to time they release a deveopment environment for Berries and having a programming background, I'm curious how easy or difficult the process is. While I've never done game programming, I'm sure I could most likely write a few good utilities and useful apps if the environment is fairly intuitive.
yea im curious aswell, i wanted to try an develop a app that would track my miles when i travel from one store to another store...for the job that i do ofcourse an i was curious on how hard it would be to do...where might i be able to get a hold of the program i could use to develop a blackberry app...dpes anyone know or can anyone help me with this
okay just to make sure, you do know how to program right?
check list your going to need to be able to get anywhere with this:
understand OOP - inheritance specifically
Programming in Java
understand mobile device UI conceptually
use javadocs API
if you think your alright with those then head to:
BlackBerry - BlackBerry JDE Plug-in for Eclipse
get this, set it to update and for the storm to test on you have to update to 4.7 at least.
Im a recent CS graduate, and im still learning those things I've listed (UI concepts mainly)
its very easy to make simple one screened apps. but theres very little guidance for new programmers to make 'bigger' apps.
It's easy to create apps, honestly. The hard part is to make GOOD apps.
The previous post lays out some of the items you should probably have a good understanding of, because Java will let you bite off more than you can chew. You'll end up with an app that ..well, eats your phone. (mem leaks, unintuitive designs, etc.)
