Verizon Comparison Chart leaked for HTC Eris!

Well it looks like our inside sources are busy again but this time with a little something differenet. Instead of the normal BlackBerry information, they have gotten us an internal Verizon comparison chart comparing the Eris, S2, HTC Ozone and LG EnV.

That's a little bit of a misnomer and let me explain why. Sure the iPhone has a ton of space to store apps but here is the catch, and it's a pretty big one.

Every iPhone/iPod touch comes with 128 MB of available runtime memory. As the device boots up and begins running, this memory area is allocated to the applications that runs. Usually, the system itself takes a large chunk from the available 128 MB and leaves about 40 MB for the user.

Once you start using your device, the available memory begins to reduce. This could sometimes lead to applications closing unexpectedly when the available memory is low. That's why there is an app call Free memory which keeps the runtime memory as high as possible. This is also another reason why the iPhone is a poor multitasking phone.

With respect to the Droid, while I don't know the answer for sure, I suspect it will have similar limitations to the iphone and while you may be able to store a ton of apps on external memory the runtime memory most likely will be limited.

oh ha but wouldnt it make sense having as much runtime memory that the droid does to offer the same amount of memory or more to store apps and music and junk to be better

Of course it would...but currently that is a limitation of cellphone CPU's. There not meant to be computers persee and if they were able to put a chip in to make runtime memory larger the cost of the cellphone would be significantly more.

I have one q'stion about Drois vs BB....I say that because what I'm looking for is a phone that can display web pages similar to how the iphone or itouch can, I have the S1 now and idk just doesn't feel like the webpages r displayed the same as on and iPhone. Also, what i want is a phone that can do real time e-mail. Love the BB for pushing e-mails to S1 so quickly..second(s)..of it being sent.

So comparing the droid and BB..(i know it might b hard to say since the droid isn't out) who has the better browser capabilities? Also, would the droid push e-mails at the same speed as BB, I have 3 set up on S1 and they're all gmail. These 2 q'stions r really wat I wanna find answer to, but can't seem to find it anywhere, did some searching on the web to. Either i'm the info isn't out yet or I'm just not finding it.

    THanks for the help/answer.

**I wanna pick up the S2 really bad, but i'm forcing myself to wait to droid drops and reviews come in to decide..but idk how much longer i'll b able to hold off lol**

The Droid pushes gmail and polls any others. Hard to say if it will do the gmail as fast as the BB without trying it. But I have heard from some of the people that have used it that is is just as quick.

I don't know really how to explain it but the web experience on Android is just outstanding. The pages look richer and it blows BlackBerry out of the water as far as speed of loading full web pages.

I was able to play with a Droid yesterday and if you have Gmail the Droid pushes emails just as fast as the BB. As for the web browser, there is no comparison, the Droid simply puts the BB browser to shame
