Default Upgraded to HTC but still have my Torch

I know that I have been talking up going to the Torch2 and really didn't speak about the HTC Inspire 4G but, it is an incredible device. I can conduct business from it as well as having tons of fun with this device. There are tons of apps available and I found one app that will scan each app before it is allowed to be accessed. It has a built in voice recognition that rivals what iPhone 4s has released. It has a hefty, quality built feeling. It's screen is huge (4.3") compared to the Torch2 9810 (3.2), the Torch 9860 (3.7) and the iPhone(3.5). It is incredibly fast, faster than my Torch 9800, but I'm sure that will not last long once it is compared to a dual core processor device.
Android OS is way better than the ios on iPhone. I can copy music and photos directly onto a SD card.
But, the battery door and SIM door are a real PIA to remove. I mean VERY hard to do. The framing is made out of one piece of aluminum (as in a unibody construction) which is probably why the doors are so difficult to remove. However, that is the only downside that I have found to date.
When I find out more, I'll post updates here. If those you are wondering about anything else relating to this device, just ask.

Having said all that, I still am hanging onto and using my Torch 9800 because it still feels good in my hand and I am used to its actions and feel.

Are you a mole for Android Central? :P

I'll get on that dislike button right away. Haha.

I've had Android devices and one thing you will see as you have the phone longer is the battery life gets worse and the OS gets buggy with the more apps you install. Not going to bash the device completely, but the hardware are Android devices has also been known to fail the most.

We'll see regarding the battery life. So far, it has settled down, much like it does when we install a new OS on our Blackberrys. It does eat battery life more quickly though, but I'm up to an entire day now. I know that they can be jail broke like iPhones and get better battery life out of it.

I have a droid 2 as well as my Torch. Droids are ok devices they have their quirks as well just like BlackBerry does. You may want to try rooting your device is opens up a new world of possibilities.

I need to research rooting procedures. I'm thinking that it is basically the same as unlocking a blackberry?

Well, I have rooted my HTC and installed a different ROM, (with help from ice). So now with the "jailbroke" HTC, my battery life has increased dramatically. I also found an app that will automatically turn off data access when the phone goes to sleep, allowing updating to emails every 15 minutes. So far, so good.

Have you messed around with any customizations since rooting the Droid?

I've installed a ROM that is similar to the stock ROM. The advantages I've found are much better battery life and at&t bloat ware is gone. I messed with another ROM that was 3D, and I could watch the battery drain. I'm comfortable for now. Maybe after I get an xtra battert & charger, I'll play with other ROMs.

Mainly because my wife and I share the Torch and she uses it for her work. She doesn't want BBM right now so...there ya go. Keeping peace in the family.
