I don't personally have one, but I've got a friend that does and isn't that tech savy and since I don't have one...

Can you do backups of your information (contacts, emails) like you can on a BB? If so, please give me some instructions or site so that I can direct my friend in the right direction.

Tell your friend he can download htc Sync to his pc and sync his Eris using the usb cable. Here is the link: http://www.htc.com/us/support/droid-eris-verizon/downloads/
