I'm wondering how the browser performance is on the Eris compared to the MotoDroid. I'm guessing the MotoDroid would render faster due to a faster processor but I could be wrong. I'm also wondering how the Eris looks loading full sites compared to the MotoDroid with its larger display and higher resolution. Pinch zoom is not important since I only have one arm and actually like the way the MotoDroid browser handels zooming.

I will say this, the Droid browser is very impressive. It renders pages super face and gives you very close to desktop like experience. Because of the large screen there is very little scrolling left and right to be able to see the full page. IMO it's the second best browser next to mobile safari.

The Eris browser is no slouch either. First and foremost it comes equipped with Flash making web browsing really enjoyable. Pages the Droid cannot render due to the lack of Flash renders beautifully on the Eris. The Eris renders pages a little bit slower than the Droid but not that much that I notice a big difference. And over wifi it really flies. You do have to do a bit more scrolling horizontally due to the smaller size of the screen. I would give the Droid browser a 9.0 (9.5 once it gets Flash) and the Eris a 8.5

So what youre really saying is..... you have both!

I must confess I have 9 BB's and 2 Droids :haha:

My theory is you can't knock a product unless you have owned it.

Thanks Josh, my 30 days are up Wed and with several issues, myself & a vzw tech support rep thought it best to send the Droid back & wait for the holiday lineup that's coming (this during a conversation last night). No one I spoke to at vzw has had battery complaints yet I see that as one of the fixes in this update (although it wasn't on the 5 page leaked update, but the phones had yet to be released when that update was created if you remember).

I'm now waiting & with Olta's input changing my plan which will save me ~$40mo. Thank you Olta!

Getting back OT... With Flash support coming next month for the Droid (possibly) and it being Flash 10.1 support (not Flash Lite) things should get interesting. I like the look & features (HTC features) the Eris has over the Droid but I've already had a taste of that large screen. I need some Passion in my life! LOL

It's a tough call Bob. I am sure you saw the HTC lineup for 2010 and there are a few good ones. The one that caught my eye is the HTC Bravo. 3.7 inch screen with 1 Ghz snapdragon processor. I agree the screen size on the Droid is awesome but overall as a phone, I still give Eris the nod. I have traveled all over the US and the Eris has yet to drop one call. The Droid not so good. And the phone quality on the Droid has not been the best either. Just my personal experience though.

But when it comes down to running my business, there is only one phone I trust and that is the Blackberry. Even with its outdated OS and crappy web browser, like old faithful, she always come through.

I completely agree with josh.

My personal experience with eris browsing has been nothing but pleasure. Flash is an awesome feature! Looking at the line up, it looks awesome...I still hold hope for passion...but in reality the line up will ALWAYS exist and it seems as if we will never win. As we wait for that perfect device, another better one is not too far behind. I personally love Eris and if passion comes out I may or may not get it.

Not sure I want to wait past December... Hopefully there will be news on the Passion to vzw soon!
