You should be able to download to your memory card and click to install it. You can also use a file manager like ASTRO. Or you can email it to your gmail account and download tattachapkinstaller and click on the attach and install using that app
yeah i already found that out

In the browsers Download list simply tap on the apk file and it will start the install process.

Oh, you'll need to check the top option in Settings/Applications to install apps that are not from the Market.

I really as a site team member have to voice my opinion on this. This is illegal period! Getting paid apps for free is stealing. This thread is under review.
Friendly reminder: There may be many sites that offer paid apps free, and there may be people to help load those...but as a site, we at ::bbos:: do not support that and cannot provide assistance in such cases. :)
To load any app to an android based OS, you would need to download a free app installer from market place. Also check it out for any and all free apps that are available for androids. :)

In my case I was answering his question about installing apk files that were not from the Android Market. Policing his actions is not my nor BBOS's responsibilities. There are sites that offer both paid & free apps but require software to use the service such as sideme where devs sell or give away their work rather than use the Android Market (think of App World & MobiHand). What he chooses to do is not for me to decide and since no links to said site are posted publicly, BBOS should be in the clear.Quote:

Actually, if instructions are publicly posted on a forum on how to install illegally obtained software, the site CAN be held partially responsible.
That having been said, there are many circumstances where one would need to install an .APK file legitimitely obtained, so I will describe the process here:
1- copy .APK file to SD card
2- go to Settings-->Applications and make sure "Unknown Sources" is checked
3- using a file manager such as Astro, navigate to the SD card and pick the .APK file. It will install.
