Thread: Droid OS on another phone?

I wonder in there would be a way to wipe my omnia of wm6.1 and replace it with the android os?I would say no to that as the omnia is a closed phone.On that note I am wondering if the droid will be like the bb,able to replace,shrink,remove apps and reinstall it?I have a few apps that are bugging the crap out of me.Any ideas?or comments on this?Please post.

I did D/L the android source code but its 1.6 no word of 2.0 going open source yet that I have seen.Trying to build in in vmware using Ubuntu but I cant seem to be able to install Java5.
