The Droid's resolution is 854x480!!!

that being said though... Wallpapers can and SHOULD IMO be much larger. Im curently using the below picture on my homescreen. The picture files is 1920x1080 (hd quality) and is approx 750kb in size. When "cropped" (which is not by much) it looks amazing on screen. Id swear my screen is that fake screen on the dummy device becuz it looks so crisp.

Looks nice. I know what the resolution is and figured the wallpaper would be bigger but 1920x1080 HUGE! Sounds about the size of my 24" iMac.

well if you take a picture and scale it to the resolution size, it its the correct dimensions for the wallpaper. If you take a HUGE hires pic like this and "set as wallpaper" it will make you crop it to the screen size.(which in case u didnt know covers all 3 homescreens) Ive tried this on several diff pictures at several diff resolutions. The ones set at 854x480 actually looked like crap, where as the hires pics look amazing!

So yes they are HUGE... but the higher the original res is... when u shrink it down then crop it .. it looks WAY better than a lower res at default or even stretched! So is 1mb of space on that 16GB really goin to waste if you do it this way....IMO.... I THINK NOT !!!

The size if I'm not mistaken is 960x854
