Thread: Custom Sounds

Any1 know of an app or figured out how to assign ring tones (not the factory 1s) but the ones stored on an SD card to an sms's ring. Or to the phone's alerts. With my former S2, I was ablw to choose ring tomes for my contacts rings as well as sms alerts. All my ring tones are stored on my SD card and w/S2, I was able to set custom rings for Voicemail, and sms.. Help..

I thought I saw an option for that??? Let me check tomorrow when my phone is done charging and I will let you know

I use Rings Extended which I downloaded from the Market Place. Now go to change your ringtone as normal. When prompted select "Rings Extended" and you will now be able to choose from all the MP3's you put on the phone. As for contacts, when you have a contact open, click the Menu button and then select Options. From there you can select a ringtone.

I watched the video and set this up but for some reason, My tone starts to play then it gets cuts off by the system tone(Droid)..What could I have done wrong:Eyecrazy:

This app works for emails as well. Just go to email, click menu, select ringtone, and select Rings Extended.....

I figured out how to set separate SMS contact sounds using Handcent SMS.

In an SMS to a contact. In the upper right corner of the thread/message window is a button with shapes of a person & a gear. This is where you setup the app for the contact under "Notification Settings". The contact & phone number will be the title of the window at this point.

just use ringdroid.....set them as either notifications or ringtones and then go into each application and pick settings and change the ringtone

ringdroid even lets you pick the part of the song that you want to be for your ringtone
