Mobile hotspot disappearance .

And couple of weeks ago from no particular reason mobile hotspot disappear from my 9900 os 7.1.0.428 it disappear from manage connections and network connections screens but still at modules in app management. I contact my service provider because I read in other forums that carriers across the Caribbean and center and south America block the capability of hotspot for a while to bring it back later for a extra cost in fares, but Claro in P.R. Assured me that they do not block hotspot ability. They send me back the service books once again and the hotspot still missing. I proced to wipe and reload the os but still missing. Any suggestions?, does any one encountered this problem?. Waiting for a quick response as always

I have read your issue, and I find that very strange.

As a BlackBerry Bold 9900 owner, was running OS7.1.0.428, until OS7.1.0.523 was recently posted 06.21.12;

If you have some time today or in the near future, backup your device, wipe it, and install OS7.1.0.523.

Thanks grimreaper, in response of your post I'm already wipe twice the device,1st time to download .428 once again and then to upgrade to .523, if noticed also post a thread giving a solution to detect device analyzer in .523. No hotspot shown on my device since was vanished from my device. In other forums running from Venezuela many people agree that carriers are the ones that have the capability to vanish hotspot from devices trough the sim card. Also people are posting that they try switching sim cards from other carriers on unblocked devices and hotspot appears once again until switch back to original sim card. Any other suggestions or solutions? . Thanks once again

Hello daviddragon,

This is what I would do.

I will remove the SIM card from the device, remove my SD card (only a suggestion) wipe my BlackBerry Bold 9900, install OS7.1.0.523, and upon the device rebooting, you should see mobile hotspot.

The actual mobile hotspot feature, which is located in Manage Connections cannot simply disappear (is that possible?), but the mobile carrier can deny you access to the feature, unfortunately.

As for the BlackBerry Device Analyzer feature, go to Options, press and hold the Alt key + BBDA (at the same time), and you will see this screen below.

Dear Grimreaper: I alredy do that procedure twice. I unblocked my phone and inserted a friends sim card from at&t and when rebot mobile hotspot appears. As soon as I took out at&t sim card and put black claro sim card it disappears once again. My carrier (claro pr) denied that this is his doing because I have a preaty expensive plan with all features enabled and ilimitates. Any other suggestions. In regard to device analyzer I'm the one that find out what you explained in this reply. See comments on Joe's post about 7.1.0.523 the only thing with this procedure is that you have to repeat it everry time you make a rebot.
