    Good to see that this version now has the resource monitor. We heard awhile back ago that this feature was coming. Let us know how it continues to work for you. Thanks for the feedback.

    Finally a new OS for the 9900!

    Just installed. Good to know Battery Saving Mode is back. Peculiar problem though. As soon as I installed this, applications like Twitter, Facebook, App World, Blackberry Travel seem to think I'm on a lower data plan, and refuse to start up. I have to switch to wi-fi to get them to work. At the same time, BBM and Whatsapp work just fine. I've rebooted the phone twice, have tried re-inserting my SIM card, switched the network on off, and even switched to EDGE from 3G, but no solution yet.

    I'm on a full data plan from Vodafone India, FYI.

    UPDATE: spoke to Vodafone customer care. They were helpful enough to let me know that somehow, the apn authentication option was not checked in my TCP IP settings. Had to manually enter settings. Working okay now.

    Was tempted to wait until the weekend but I'm really curious to check out the new app management feature and the report above re battery improvements so quickly makes it too tempting to wait.

    Yes, quite a few actually. It's in application list and the Memory Cleaner is in Application folder too. I looked many times for it and then I just loaded device analyzer COD's from another OS and then it was there. That's how I got it working properly.

    I don't know if it's the software itself, but it's messed some settings around for sure. My email accounts were onfigured, but suddenly about 1 hour into running the OS, they both get deleted. Had to reconfigure them.

    On another note, this seems to be the first OS to come with BBM 6.2...am I right?

    Anybody else having a hard time installing? I've tried both the conventional and BBSAK to install, when chosen to install .523 apploader says there are no other actions to take. I have .402 loaded but for some reason any update to the os is not recognized. Anyone?

    Joe. Yeah I've done those steps exactly the way described and when i installed .402, this version wants to be recognized on my pc, but my phone just doesnt want to be updated. I was hoping this update would help me with my possessed phone (previous post) issues. Would it be ok to delete the earlier os file folders in addition to un installing?
    Thanks

    Hi richrab, when you go to Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features, look for BlackBerry Device Software v7.1.0 for the BlackBerry 9900 smartphone look for prior versions which you won't need, and delete them.

    For anyone who wishes to find where these file folders, they are located in your Windows PC, look for (C: )>Program Files>Common Files>Research In Motion>Shared>Loader Files, here are the folders which contain the BlackBerry OS.

    When you delete the BlackBerry OS from Add and Remove, these folders should be gone as well, but in case they are not, look for them above, which I have provided for you.

    Also, if anyone needs the latest BlackBerry Desktop Manager Software version 7.0.0, look below;

    BlackBerry Desktop Software for PC

    Thank you.

    Thanks Grim, for some reason un installing removes the os from the program list, but leaves the old files in tact. You've answered my question, thanks!

    Wow, sorry to be a pain, the source of the problem was the .523 file downloaded from RIM turned out to be version 7.0.14 form Oct. 2011 (File name correct, contents incorrect). Luckily my install didn't downgrade. I'm sure this was a fluke, but other members should be on the look out!
