ALT + BBDA WORKS FOR MEBBOS The best!
grimreaper Damn you Know your Shit About Blackberrys I Think it was you That offered awhile ago to Remote access My P.C and Help Load.428 or .423 on my Torch 9810 Would you Still Do That?
I'm having trouble upgrading to this OS. For some reason I get a message that says the device software cant be found.
I've attached the screenshot of the BBSAK screens I used to load the OS and the error message I get in the app loader. I've been updating device software since I had my 8320 and have done other Bolds, Curves, Storms, Torches and even updated this very 9900 to the previous 7.1 that was released prior to 7.1.0.523.
Really need some assistance
Thanks

Hello tuntun7 and thank you for attaching screen shots, it really helps us more than our members can imagine.
Assuming you already have BlackBerry Desktop Manager for PC version 7.0.0, and you've installed OS7.1.0.523, removed the vendor.xml file(s), then restart BBSAK (if I may strongly suggest disable any and all passwords) it really is a hassle when Security is enabled.
Plug in your BlackBerry Bold 9900 via USB, now you should be fine.
If you require any further help, one of our Team members can assist you when available.
Also, if I may suggest, please update your BlackBerryOS profile, as it says 9000, and device OS.
Thank you.
Thanks for the quick response @grimreaper, that's exactly how I normally do it. Matter of fact, BBSAK removes the vendor.xml for you but I always check manually to ensure it was removed.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing the device software and restarted the computer. I'm now going to remove my security password then try again right now with your other tips. Will let you know how it goes.
I updated my profile after posting when I realized it was outdated.
Hey tun: for what its worth, I had major issues trying to install this version; but for whatever reason after deleting the beta DM 7.1 and re-installing DM 7.0 the installation went through without a hitch. Different problem but I hope it helps. After 2 days with this OS I've noticed a huge increase in battery life. Good luck!
Thank you Tacticoolness, I appreciate it, this is due to years of being a BlackBerry owner/user/helper.
You have successfully installed OS7.1.0.428 on your BlackBerry Torch 9810, and we can further guide you on our Forums.
I offer remote access for the most extreme cases, and it's extremely rare.
Thank you.
Thank you tuntun7, you have done many steps correctly, and it's great to see.
I appreciate you're taking my advice with disabling your BlackBerry device's security, you'll realize it makes the process that much easier, and when everything is said and done, you can enable your device's security again.
Keep me posted.
Thank you.
The BlackBerry Desktop Manager beta software for PC was in fact causing a few of our members some issues, and as you said, it is correct, by uninstalling the beta, and re-installing the latest Official DM, seems everything worked out great.
Thank you for sharing that richrab
Guys, unfortunately nothing I've done so far is working and its a bit frustrating. The only thing different from all my other installations is that this is a different laptop.
Also, I think something went wrong when I wiped my phone because when I did, I got a 507 error. I got the error and followed the instructions on blackberry.com/507 and I now have 7.0.0.579 installed
I'm extremely puzzled why this is being such a pain.
Hi tuntun7, you didn't do nothing wrong as error code 507 is a good thing, all that means is you completely wiped your BlackBerry device.
What I can't understand is how did you ended up with OS7.0.0.579, I'm assuming that somehow you picked this OS via DM.
When upgrading (or downgrading an OS) Desktop Manager can give you the option if you would like to install the OS (Local Installation) which is an installed OS by you.
Keep me posted.
Thank you.
So I tried wiping my phone again, then tried installing os7.0.0579 through DM but when I tried the installation ended with my phone saying "App Error 200". I tried wiping like three other times and the same thing happened.
Then I got an idea to ignore the error and try the loader again. But this time when I got the message seen in my initial post, I clicked the add button and selected all the contents of the following folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9900AllLang_v7.1.0.523_P5.1.0.393"...... to my surprise...........the files came up and I went ahead with my installation.
I installed BBDA, restored my apps and my data and my phone is working just fine. Makes no sense, but I'm happy its now working... perhaps another day I can retrace my steps and see if I can figure out what really went wrong.
Thanks for all the help guys... much appreciated.
Hi Joe, have you encountered any error with 7.1.0.523 preventing you from downloading apps from the app site? It is giving me a connection error. I have tried doing battery pull twice and still getting the same error message. I was running 7.0 and got no problem downloading apps. Thanks in advance
