Thread: Discuss Official BlackBerry Bold 9900 OS v7.1.0.437 From China Unicom [AllLang]

China Unicom has released an OS update to the BlackBerry Bold 9900. OS v7.1.0.437 is now available, so make sure you get out those USB cords and get to updating! Let us know what bugs and bug fixes you find to help out those who are still undecided whether or not to update.

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Just upgraded OS .428 yesterday. Haven't found any things from this OS. Now .437 s out. Downloading...

I have successfully installed OS7.1.0.437, and I can't say too much about it at the moment except the upgrade process was a flawless one time process, no issues whatsoever, very smooth, no lag, and please remember those battery pulls.

One after the upgrade, another one in 2-3 hours, and lastly, 8 hours later.

Took away my NFC I had with .402...........so back with .402...oceanghost

Yup NFC is out. I think i will go back to .428

I have spoken to a few members and it seems with this Official OS7.1.0.437, some members, and even our own Team member ToraxCefiro were noticing that NFC, Media Server, Parental Control, even the Battery Saving Mode is missing.

Whether these features are important to you or not, it doesn't explain how they forgot to include these key features from their updated OS.

I have taken some screen shots to show you what I am missing from OS7.1.0.437, so with this in mind, I may return back to OS7.1.0.428, or simply take the .COD files I have backed up and install them to this current OS (this may be advanced for some users, so please be careful when making such changes to the core OS).

We appreciate the feedback Rest assure that we will continue and provide necessary things about OS and everything BB.
In regards with this new OS 7.1.0.437, it is definitely a very smooth and fast build however, some other things which I know is important to most of BB Bold users like the Battery Saving Mode, are missing..

We will keep you posted for any other updates. And oh, watch out for something really really great about Bold 9900 OS.. I can't tell much of it yet but we will tell you guys real soon

Has any one got problem with words auto suggestion in typing English. I just realized it is missing. I go to option, there is Typing option, but it s not selectable. Thinking to wipe this OS away....

Now you guys are just teasing us. WHAT'S THE BIG NEWS COME ON TELL US WE CAN'T WAIT!

When I had OS7.1.0.437 on my BlackBerry Bold 9900, I hadn't bother checking Typing and Language options, as it wasn't a priority for me, but I will check next time when installing any BlackBerry OS.

I'm currently running OS7.1.0.428 now.

I was planning to make a hybrid OS for BlackBerry Bold 9900 owners, but that plan was shelved as many users was already planning on downgrading back to OS7.1.0.428, or even OS7.1.0.402, as this OS is missing a few features.

Yea, sucks about the OS being crappy. Hopefully from here on out we get full features on 7.1.

Ahh that would have been awesome. I think I'm going to go back to 284. Gave me the BEST battery life.

Yeah, I know it would have been awesome, but at least we have other official OS options available, for example in your case, you're choosing to go .284.

If I may say, do you really want to go down that far consider several official OS updates were released after .284, .267, .342, .391, and .428 (which I choose), but after all, it's what makes you happy, and it works best for you.

I know, but none of those builds gave be battery life as good as 284. Didn't have any bugs that I noticed either.

Speaking of bugs - 402 and 428 both have this: when disconnecting the mobile hotspot, the green circle keeps rotating till you close the connections screen and open it again. Anybody else experienced this?

Hello amoghranadive, personally, I haven't experienced any major issues with my battery on OS7.1.0.428, but it is kinda funny you mention the issue of the green circle rotating when disconnecting mobile hotspot, so I can relate as you have.
