i'm using telkomsel in indonesia. they have 2G, 3G and 4G(H+) services. i still could have the option when my bb still on os 7.0 but it is disappear with this os (7.1.0.428). i tried to do manual search on the available network but it keeps failing. could you tell me how to re-load this os to my bb as i'm afraid that the upgrade is not completely perfect given that i got the error (507) message during upgrade process. thanks

I checked out Telkomsel | Home courtesy of Google translate from Indonesian to English, and found they do in fact offer 4G mobile network access using their simPATI SIM card, which is what you use on your BlackBerry Bold 9900 device.

I would suggest a re-install of OS7.1.0.428, as per the installation instruction link found on the very first page of this thread, and I will provide the link below for you.

How to upgrade your device (pictures and video)

Even though there is currently another updated official OS available for the Bold 9900, I would rather stick with this official OS7.1.0.428, as it has all the key features, until I post another updated OS.

As for error 507, you get that when you have completely wiped the OS from the BlackBerry device, and it's now ready to install an official or leaked OS of your choice for that BlackBerry device.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

thank for the info. telkomsel has all the services from 2G to 4G.
for this os, i think it is quite good and it seems that my battery life is much better with this os.
for the network mode, it seems that it is set to 2G and 3G as in the display sometimes it is shown EDGE not 4G. my problem is only that i could not choose the band that i want. i may continue use this os for the time being.

as for re-installing the os, does it means that i need to follow your instruction link. does security wipe is enough?

    Hello everyone,
I just upgraded my blackberry 9900 to .428 and everything works nice just like my previous version .391. I'm just wondering if there's any chance of getting the Network selection option that gave you the ability to select 2G or 2, 3, 4G just like the version 7.0.5xx that the blackberry originally came with.
Why it worked on os 7.0 but after upgrade theres no selection every time I want to select 2G I have to manually scan then select and can take long...

    hi mvzegarra,
you are experiencing the same condition as me. it seems that the network selection option may not available in same case. maybe you could try to re-install the os. however, i do not see any problem with this condition as it is actually set on automatic (2G/3G) so it will select the band itself depend on the network availability. i, personally, find this os is quite good especially on the battery life especially compared to my previous os (7.0) so i have not tried to re-install this os yet. hope that this will help.

I just wanted the ability to choose only EDGE in places where there is low 3G signal, has someone managed to fix this? Or it depends on the network you are with

Anyone have another link for this? Whenever I fill out my details and click on download it just reloads the page - all fields filled in. No errors.

Downloaded and installed that and didn't like it at all. The Device Analyzer disappeared and my battery life dropped significantly. Found mediafire links for this - https://twitter.com/leonardo/status/205115922510381057

by the looks of the comments this is a decent release.

There is no issue with OS7.1.0.523, as you can see on my profile, I am using the exact same Official OS7.1, as for the BlackBerry Device Analyzer, a very simple solution is to go into Options, press the Alt key, B+B+D+A, and you now have it activated.

The link you provide above by the looks of it, a 2 part OS install, and I can't understand why you would prefer that vs 1 full Official OS release from here.

This is only a suggestion, after all, it is ultimately up to you.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion, if 428 doesn't work out I'll try 523 again and do the BBDA thing, didn't know about that.

The 2 part download is unfortunately my only option as the Blackberry site just reloads the page when I try to download.

I will check our links again, for OS7.1.0.428, and OS7.1.0.523, and report back here asap.

    Thank you.

Update: I checked both links, no issues whatsoever, if in doubt, please clear your browser's cache.
