Battery life has taken a hit for me as compared to 284. I was getting an astonishing 11 to 12 hours from 100% to reserve with 3G, occasionally wifi, Twitter, Whatsapp, BBM and email being constantly used.

This has gone down to about 8-9 hours.

    What about you guys?

Well that's on the down side. How long have you had the update installed? I ask because it sometimes takes a good couple of days to settle in.

Been 3 days now? And probably 4 reboots. Could see the settling in trend, where the life goes a little higher...but not as much as 284. That build did the job for me. UNBELIEVABLE.

EDIT: Speaking of changes in this build, the battery icon for the Battery Saving Mode option has changed. Just...thought I'd let everyone know. :P

I had previously installed OS7.1.0.284 on my BlackBerry Bold 9900, then I wiped my device, installed the leaked OS7.1.0.342 (not to mention, it definitely was a unique way of upgrading a new OS, Bold 9900 owners know this).

Since then, OS7.1.0.342 Official was released just over 2 days ago, courtesy of Telenor Norway.

Some Bold 9900 owner's may notice an improvement between the leaked OS7.1.0.342, and the Official OS7.1.0.342, but I guess every Bold 9900 is unique in its own ways.

Personally, since I have "upgraded" to the Official OS7.1.0.342, I can tell you, when in comparison of the previous OS leak, this is better.

I had experienced a bit of lag with the leaked OS7.1.0.342, maybe it was an application I had installed, maybe it some unforeseen issue that didn't catch my attention, but it doesn't matter anymore.

All that matters to any Bold 9900 owner, if an OS install works for them, that's what counts....enjoy

This official OS fixed the lag (for me). If I said before that the Leaked OS .342 runs smoother than .284, I can say that this one is on top of the two. Try it out and you'll be amazed!

That's great to hear oceanghost, which begs the question, why would T-Mobile block NFC in the first place?

The fact this OS has enabled you to access NFC is great news for many BlackBerry Bold 9900 users, another positive reason to upgrade to this official OS7.1.0.342.

    Thank you.
