You need to go to your control panel and go to programs, and then remove any previous OS that was installed. Leave the one that you want to install.

Then you need to install the OS through the Loader. The loader can be located in the following directory...

    In XP: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
In Windows XP, double click the file named "Loader".

    In Vista:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
Windows Vista/7: Right click the file named "Loader" and choose "Run as Administrator"

Click the button in the bottom right of a post to say thanks!

    Hello panco469,

You really have to make sure that you have deleted the previous Device Software under Control Panel of your computer. Then, you have to install the OS you want to use for your device on your computer. After the installation of the OS on your computer, get your USB cable, connect it to your computer AND you have to make sure to delete the vendor xml files. To do that, follow this > How To search for & delete your vendor.xml

After deleting the vendor xml files, click the Loader and follow the prompt to install the new OS to your device:

    In XP: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
In Windows XP, double click the file named "Loader".

    In Vista: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
Windows Vista/7: Right click the file named "Loader" and choose "Run as Administrator"

Try this now and get back to us..

Oh I see.. Try to delete the Vendol xml files.. I think there's 1 or 2 of them.. Use the link posted earlier on How to find and Delete it.. After deletion, you can proceed with clicking the Loader and follow the prompts to update your device

Yeah I'll have to get a rain-check on that though, but thank you for trusting me my friend.

As a reminder for anyone who wishes to update their OS via DM or BBH-Tool, please disable your device password, and make sure you have the latest (stable) Desktop Manager for PC v6.1, and Java version 6 update 31 installed.

    Enjoy

    Hey ToraxCefiro,

He's very happy now, the issues he was experiencing on his computer were numerous and complicated, and unfortunately, I highly doubt anyone here could have solved it, therefore, I decided to take it one step further, and help him via remote assistance.

I'm glad he now has the Official OS7.1.0.342 for his BlackBerry Bold 9900
