Hi avianu3009,
Yes, just go ahead with it. Paste all the contents of .342 folder to .284 folder like what grimreaper just mentioned above.
After you pasted it all, connect your device to your PC and launch Desktop Manager, File and Update (Choose the .284 that holds the content of .342 folder). Follow the prompts to update your device and then that's it. (y)
Or use the BBH Tool.. Launch it, use .284 folder and then click "Launch Loader". Follow the prompts and you'll be able to update your device. ;)
Let us know the outcome and tell us if you still encounter issues so we can help you further. :)
Hi everyone,
Please help , despite been following this forum on how to down load this new os .384.
After i down loaded this new os , key in the pass word and i move the entire file to the .284 icon and there is and error in reading .
So the next thing i did was as follow:-
As usual, i open the new os , keying in the pass word and it bring me to the zip file page .
In the zip file page , i highlight the new os and then move the mouse to "ADD" icon , click it and choose the os .284 then the process start like merging this 2 os together.
After the process complete, a new file was created in the zip file call 9900Alllang_PBr 7.1.0_re1998_PL5.1.0.230_A7.1.0.284.
The file size is written 273,577,160 .
I click on it and its start the installation process . After completion, i go to desk stop manager but cant find it ?
I event follow what toraxcefiro said , go to file look for update and so on . but in the "file " show no "update" .So i click on the " device" then click "up date " also cant find it.
Is it i m missing something here ? My desk top manager is version 7 and i m using window 7
Thanks in advance
cheers
Hi rambo,
Did you say you merged the 2 folders and made another one?
If that's what you did, then its really gonna show up "no update" as the 2 files are mixed now into one file.
What I want you to do is to go to the extracted file of .324 once again..
Next is to copy all the content of it and go look for the .284 folder.
Once you're there, open the .284 folder and you will find all the content. (See above illustrations of Sir grimreaper)
That is where you will have to paste what you have copied from .342 folders
After pasting it, next thing I want you to do is to download the BBH Tool
Download the BBH-Tool v.2.4.9.5 (Public Version)
Launch the BBH Tool and browse for the .284 folder (now the content of this is the one you copied and pasted from .342 folder)
Then, click Launch Loader and follow the prompt to update your device's OS.
Honestly, I encountered errors as well when I used the Desktop Manager so I used the alternative and much easier way with the help of BBH Tool to update my OS. (y)
Try it and let us know the outcome. :)
Hello rambo, let me get this right.
You downloaded the compressed file, entered the key, and moved the entire file to the .284 icon?
That doesn't sound like someone who has been following this forum how to load the new OS7.1.0.342.
Can you carefully re-read my very descriptive post #17, and #40.
Thank you.
Thank you guys, i will try to do it again
cheers
Mine's installed. It's very simple really, make sure you have a previous OS installed and just paste the folder contents to that one and run apploader as per usual.
Has anyone done a report on what actually has improved in this version rather than "how do I install it" ?
Hi mikeweb and welcome to BBOS,
Its nice to know that you have updated your OS to the Leaked OS .342.. Good job!
.342 runs smoother and much more responsive as compared to .284 (in my own experience with Bold 9900). Some says the .342 is not working properly with them since its a leaked version but still, you will see the difference of the two.
There are no reports yet about the main difference so far as comments from Bold users are quite not alike. If you have something to share about the comparison of the 2, it would be awesome so everyone can see :) (y)
Thanks, I did notice immediately that it seemed smoother and more responsive. As far as other changes I haven't noticed anything yet - I know someone mentioned NFC but that's not something I use / know how to use so I'm not sure about that.
If I notice anything more I will post :-)
Thanks for the feedback, Mike. (y)
Hi everyone,
i m so envy that all you people successful up grade to this os .342. As i have try it many days but still unable to do it.
My problem is like this :-
After i download it and i open it with pass word then a zip file appear .
In the zip file i double click on this (c_) Then i double click on this(program Files X86) Then i double click till this appear (9000AllLang_v7.1.0.342_P5.1.0.276).
Then i move the mouse pointing at it and right click the mouse and it shows other words except this two words "COPY" "PASTE"
Here is where i got stuck.
M i missing something here ? please advice , i m using window 7
cheers
Hi rambo,
You have to open the folder, select all the files (CTRL+A) copy all of them (CTRL+C).
Then go to the .284 folder in Drive C, open it and the right click and paste (CTRL+V) it there.
After doing that, get your USB cable and your phone and plug it to you computer. Open the BB Desktop Manager and then File and then Update. Then follow the prompts to update your device.
Another way of updating is by means of BBH Tool.. Just launch the BBH Tool, browse for the .284 file (it contains the .342) and the click Launch Loader..
Tell me if you are still having problems.. :) (y)
just upgrade it, battery life drop 6% per hour without any usage, please share your rate for my reference :)
Hi,
I had upgraded two days the bbos announced the new leak. So far, my phone when it is idling, the max battery drop is 3% per hour. so far, until now the worst i have is 12% per hour due to my usage of my internet. i have been charging it twice a day due to my heavy usage. it is able to last me the whole day. Eg:
0630h - unplug from charger
0630h to 0800h - listening to bb9900 music player
0800h to 1130h - whatsapp, calling, emailing, internet
1130h to 1230h - charging my phone
1230h to 1700h - whatsapp, calling, emailing, internet
1700h till now (2330h) - 48%
For your case, there may have apps running in the background. You have to check what's the app. For this, i could not help you, unless you state what apps you have (please do not state the apps which comes along with bb9900). Hope this wil help. I bet bbos users will also help you in this.
i got no apps running in the background, i use to close all apps to save battery..and i been test my phone with delete all apps, only left 2 apps which is batterywatch and screen grabber..and battery drop 5% per hour, do u think is my battery problem? but my battery looks fine without any uneven surface
I installed it without problems by using BBH-Plus homemade installer :)
