Three hours later and I have 7.1 running on my BB9900.

Took 2hours to download. 1 hour to update the OS and do three battery pulls.

Now I just have to see how it operates over the next few days.

    Thanks for this awesome OS.

Definately a problem with BES and 7.1.0.190. Did a security wipe again, everything was there, as soon as BES started sync, I lost wifi hotspot and Device Analyser. A little help here please...

So I'm not the only one with this problem. I want Mobile Hotspot
Did you removed everything with the security wipe? E-Mails, contacts AND all installed apps?
Which carrier do you have? Cause I read on the internet that T-Mobile forbids tethering, that could be the problem.

Users have to take into account as to why you may be having difficulty accessing Mobile Hotspot on your BlackBerry device.

1.) Your carrier must have enabled tethering on your account
2.) The WiFi radio must be enabled for Mobile Hotspot to work
3.) Mobile Hotspot uses your data plan

Well BBryan most carriers allow tethering as long as the customer pays for it. T-Mobile included. as for the main issue, an IT policy could be preventing it from functioning. I would follow Grims advice and make sure the following is done.
    post back with your results.

1.) Your carrier must have enabled tethering on your account
2.) The WiFi radio must be enabled for Mobile Hotspot to work
3.) Mobile Hotspot uses your data plan

Hi Grim. That is not the problem. 7.1.0.74 worked fine with BES, and I had the Wifi Hotspot option. With .190 as soon as BES starts to sync, the option disappears along with the diagnostic option.

OK, I give up. As soon as my mobile receives the network signal, Mobile Hotspot disappears. So, there's nothing wrong with this OS, it's T-Mobile that doesn't allow tethering.

T-mobile does allow tethering. I am T-mobile employee. I would check with T-mobile Nl as they should follow the same network feature structure as tmobile USA

At this point in time since your still having issues I would contact customer care from a phone OTHER THAN your blackberry and speak to care to make sure your setup for tethering and then to technical support if your still having issues.

Additionally Carriers like Tmobile do have special service books that we send to the device to enable our "virtual preload" (options like tmobiles "web2go", "tmobile mall", Tmobile name id", and other tmobile specific services.) since the 7.1.0 os is not any of tmobile's official builds you may not be getting the service books sent to your device.

    Best of luck
