Thread: Leaked: OS 7.1.0.190 For BlackBerry Bold 9900

I would like to update this thread on news that I have just installed 7.1.0.190 on my friends BlackBerry Bold 9900, from his prior build of 7.0.0.590, and he is extremely happy that he now has Mobile Hotspot on his device.

To test this out, he connected his ASUS tablet to his Bold 9900, and is receiving very fast speeds from his carrier's (Rogers) data plan.

I thought this would be good to let any BBOS member know that he has not had any issues whatsoever with 7.1.0.190, and if you have the same carrier (who has enabled Mobile HotSpot on your account), you will be more than satisfied.

i want to ask you, if someone know how to change keyboar layout to QWERTY?
This firmware is realy fast, but battery is on 50% after 4hours in my case....

tested the 7.1.190 firmware for 2 days. what can i say..it was wayyy better than many firmwares i have tried after 2 weeks purchased 9900. Battery has improved tremendously and no ther problem so far detected. and bear in mind, this is only LEAKED version..but very satisfied having it on my bb.

My dear friend TwistMyMind, what really twists my mind is the fact that you have the Porsche homescreen clock, when the theme was only meant to be for OS 7.0! Please enlighten me on how to get this clock on my 7.1.0.190 9900 without installing the Porsche theme? Thank you very much for your help.

Anytime, evertdin, but I just realized I posted after you,TwistMyMind was correct in his post, which he was trying to tell you that it is possible to have the Porsche Design theme work with OS7.0/OS7.1, for the Torch 9850/9860 & Bold 9900/9930.

I see from your profile, you have a BlackBerry Bold 9900, using OS7.0.0.585, and you can upgrade to OS7.1.0.190 , which from all the positive feedback I observed, I am sure you will be more than happy with this leaked build.

> Browser is snappy
> Touch is very accurate

Overall very satisfied with this leak.....
I was using the 7.0.0.585 with the .540 radio file. This was very stable at an avg. 3.0% discharge rate per hour.
But using this is so much better!

So just like the guys here always say take out that usb-cord and install this new OS 7.1.0.190.

Battery life got better!!
Now I'm at an avg. 3.0% discharge rate per hour! So this one is definitely better than my previous OS due to all the added features mentioned above.

Just updated to this OS a few days ago, thanks for the upload!
Anyway, I'm liking the OS but, I have a problem with bedside mode.
I have a blackberry dock beside my bed and I dock my BB every night to charge it, I have it set to go into bedside mode when charging and enabled the setting to dismiss the clock automatically so the screen will go black and won't be so bright.
However, when I dock it, the clock will not dismiss. It dims but never fully goes out. The clock WILL dismiss automatically when I manually put it into bedside mode, while NOT on the dock though.

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem? If so, can I email blackberry about it or something of the sorts?

I have tested this issue you describe when your BlackBerry Bold 9900 enters bedside mode, and I have noticed, that I have these options:

When Charging: Do Nothing
When Charging: Display Clock, with an option to Dismiss Clock Automatically (check or uncheck)
When Charging: Enter Bedside Mode, with an option to Dismiss Clock Automatically (check or uncheck), and Restrict to Certain Hours (check or uncheck)

Are you sure you have unchecked the option in Bedside Mode?

Does the screen go black for you?
It seems that "dismiss clock automatically" just means that it dismisses the clock when you take it off the dock.

I don't have a dock for my Bold 9900...yet, so I couldn't tell you for sure, but this is what I would do if I did have a dock.

i just done my 9900 update to os7.1.0.205 platform, but somethings go wrong with the wallpaper...it not centered or like zoom in the wallpaper...anyone got this problem?? anyone knows how to solve it??
