Thread: Leaked: OS 6.1.0.44 - BlackBerry OS 6.1 for the 9850 & Bold Touch 9930!

What we have all been waiting for to happen in 2011 has finally broken through as OS 6.1 has "officially" been leaked out for the BlackBerry 9850, and the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9930! While there isn't much we can do with the OS without the new devices, thanks to BBH-Plus, we now have a arsenal of apps that come directly from the OS 6.1 build - such as - the new Podcasts, Radio, App World, News, and Visual Voicemail. We are told that if you install the apps that some of them may give you an error, but to correct the issue you can install the BlackBerry ID file. Here is the full list of available applications (OS 6 only):

• BlackBerry News v1.1.0.12
• Facebook for BlackBerry v1.9.1.8
• Visual Voice Mail v3.0.0.122
• BlackBerry App World v2.1.3.2
• BlackBerry Radio v1.0.0.34
• BlackBerry Podcasts v1.5.0.18

• Download Leaked OS 6.1.0.44 for the BlackBerry 9850
• Download Leaked OS 6.1.0.44 for the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9930

Devices aren't out, but it's not uncommon to see the OS's for them to leak before they hit the market. A lot of people work for RIM and I'm sure information is always getting out.

So does that mean we can expect (within a normal time) to see these devices coming out?

Weird... Facebook is installed but does'nt show. Also Appworld looks nice but won't let me log in :S

Yes, some reports say that we may see some new devices as early as May!

Did you try to install the BlackBerry ID?

Well it worked by just signing up again with the same details.
So I can log on, but Facebook just doesn't work, or it doesn't show anywere besides there where you can remove apps.
Whe instaling it does say you need a reboot, but no Facebook after reboot. Want to se how that works, anybody have it working?
Visual voicemail isn't supprted by my provider and radio gives 1 station.
News is a new look of the feeds they had, now it's called news.
Appworld is mostly visual but just have it a few hours.

Ps, any idea what models you think we might be seeing?

I think we may see the 9850 and the 9930 devices first since their operating systems were first to leak. Just a hunch. I also think both of those devices are going to be Verizon.

Im from Holland so Ill just have to wait for it to arrive here.
My operator had almost all the Blackberries except Storm models.
I hope the 9930 is hitting Holland soon. Love it seeing it look like the 900 which I loved!
Ps, Coocki is loving all the new stuff being leaked like DM, BBM and all....

For some reason the Storm didn't hit much of Europe and the Middle East.

We did get the Storm, but not with my provider. Don't mind seeing Im not a fan of touchscreens.
Btw, any idea who / how to get Facebook working? Installed but doesn't show.
And on the os6.1 graphics topic: how do you use them / what is it good for?

I heard that installing the BlackBerry ID is necessary to get some of the OS 6.1 leaks working.

You mean the OS 6.1 icons? The only way to get them on your phone is to get a theme that already has them installed, or create your own theme using Theme Studio v6 and build your own theme using the OS 6.1 icons. You can download the icons from here... BlackBerry OS 6.1 Icons - Downloads - BlackBerry Forums at BlackBerryOS.com

And the Theme Studio (windows only) software from here... BlackBerry Theme Studio v6.0 Beta - Downloads - BlackBerry Forums at BlackBerryOS.com

You will need to resize the icons to the respected size of each theme's icon resolution.

Facebook says it is installed but does not appear, and App World keeps asking for login and than gives an error, even witht the Blackberry ID file installed.

I've heard reports of this as well. Have you heard of any reports of people getting it to work right?
