Official OS 6.0.0.723 from SK Telecom has reached the BlackBerry Torch 9800 today. If you have a Torch 9800 get out that USB cord and give your device a fresh OS. Be sure to let us know how it works for you!

lately my 9800 keep rebooting automatically epically when charging

Yes.It seems that your Torch is Nuked ! I suggest having a look here.
I think that will help you to return your Torch to life again

Thanks i did that long time i went through 3 os before found one that wont reboot automatically as often it restart like 3 times a day sometime no time for few day im currently on 6.0.0.486

I think ill try this latest release an see if it resolve problem

I just wanted to share with everyone here at and owners of BlackBerry Torch 9800 devices, this update is satisfactory and stable.

My friend wanted to update his Torch 9800, originally he had OS6.0.0.524, then I updated through Desktop Manager v7.0.0.43, in case you don't have the latest version, click below;

Then I installed OS6.0.0.723 from SKTelecom using a custom installer tool called BBH-Tool v.2.4.9.5 , finishing off with App Loader.

Everything is well, so if you're a BlackBerry Torch 9800 owner, then by all means update and have fun!!

I upgraded from OS 6.0.0.666 and after one day all works well and stable. The ugrade gets easier each time...

Hi:

A week after upgrading my Torch 9800 to 6.0.0.723 (OS 6.0 Bundle 3106) from SK Telecom through this website, I noticed that my BB now drops the wi-fi signal of my home network, and I need to reboot the router for it to get the signal back until the BB auto-off's itself and doesn't get the signal back.

Note that the BB can 'see' the network, but it simply "fails to associate with [it]" until I reboot the router.

None of my other wifi device (netbook, laptop, TV, Freeview box, BD-player) experience this issue, so I can't blame my good old trusted router.

This behaviour started when I upgraded to the new bundle 6.0.0723.
When loaded with the old OS 6.0.0.668 (Bundle 2949), the BB used to automatically register with any the wi-fi networks that I had saved.

Has anyone experienced a smiliar issue with this bundle ?Any advice on how I can fix this ?

Hi everybody! After upgrading my Torch with this one a week ago I can notice, that it almost fixed the problems with the calibration of the touchscreen, that I had. Now it appears again, but much more rare. But on the other hand already 5 or 6 times when receiving a incoming call phone is freezing! You can't answer, the screen goes black and the only solve is to pull battery. I'm not sure if that is bundled, but there are also problems with the anwer key-it blocks and you can't enter call log, answer to a phone call and etc. Did anyone of you facing this type of problems, or it is something wrong with my Torch? I will appreciate any help!

While I do not have answers for the problems occurring with this build, I encourage others that have upgraded to this OS to post their change logs so that we can determine if this is a bad build or if their are underling issues with individual phones.

I am very familiar with this official OS6.0.0.723 from SK Telecom, for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 device.

I have personally wiped & updated 4 x BlackBerry Torch 9800 devices, and as we all know they they great devices, not as powerful as the BlackBerry Torch 9810, but through regular cleaning using the native built in application, Memory Cleaner, it will definitely help.

You say your other devices didn't experience this issue, of course not, they won't because they are not the device(s) that received this update, your BlackBerry Torch 9800 got the OS6.0.0.723 update.

All you have to do is go to Options > Networks and Connections > Wi-Fi Network > look below to Saved WiFi Networks and look for the network you use to connect to your home wireless network.

Highlight the SSID name, click on the BlackBerry button, scroll to delete, and remove it.

Return back to the Wi-Fi Network, and search for that same SSID wireless network (and enter the password if required), save the SSID network name.

Re-attempt to log back into the wireless router, and you should be connected at very acceptable data rates.

Hello sdonio, and welcome to

Glad to hear your calibration issue(s) has been minimized, but if I may suggest taking a quick look at going into Options > Typing and Language > re-configure both the Touchscreen and Touchpad Sensitivity.

You say your Blackberry Torch 9800 suffers from freezing.

You speak of an auto answer key and certain keys?

Go to Call Management> In-call Settings, and make the correct configurations to make it easier to make and receive phone calls.

You can also configure call forwarding, call waiting, call blocking (contact mobile carrier).

Check out Call Logs and Lists, if you wish to have your BlackBerry Torch 9800 show all calls, Missed calls, or no calls.

Remember when you're done using an application, try to close it off as leaving unused apps running in the background will drain your BlackBerry's memory.

ghostryder, I can confirm to you this official OS6.0.0.723 build for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 is not bad at all, sometimes the difference between wiping a BlackBerry device, or just simply updating it via Desktop Manager can make a big difference, such as missing a step or two can either make it a very uncomfortable and nerve wrecking experience for a new user who has a very limited knowledge upgrading an OS from one (leaked or official) build to the other.

That's where we come in to assist the user, and try to find a suitable answer which satisfies both parties.

I have enough of this!!! So /i decided to downgrade and to try the software from Bell. I did it today and will let you know do /i face same problems or not. Thank you for your support! I will try to be helpfull to other customers!

It's unfortunate that you're experiencing this issue with OS6.0.0.723 for you BlackBerry Torch 9800.

Have you completely wiped it, and then installed one (third party) app, and see what happens to your device?

From personal experience, I've wiped my friend's BlackBerry Torch 9800, and only updated and installed the core applications, once I find that is ok, I proceed to install the other (third party) applications one by one.

Also, remember to pull the battery out twice or 3 times throughout the day when completely updating the device OS, this way it gives the device a chance to settle into the OS.

installed this .723 update and generally the phone is much faster, however, I have found battery life to be suddenly poor. I cannot get through a normal workday, with the battery dying after about five hours. No new apps, in fact i removed many with the upgrade. Have pulled the battery 4-5 times now without any joy. Any ideas or similar experience?

Sometimes it takes few days till the OS settles down.When did you install it ?

As Youssef advised, I have found the same as far as time to settle in. In my experience, it has takes two to three days of use to get the new OS to finally get comfortable with my Torch.

hey guys. I have a question. I have an atand t branded Torch. I downloaded the .723 os and proceeded to upgrade as per normal. ie, delete vendor xml, install with app loader but the apploader doesnt load the OS on my device. Is there anything I need to know or is this a DRM, noDRM issue like with the storm? OS .600 is problematic

Isnt there anyone with the answer to this problem. I performed a device wipe and in the end had to reinstall OS .600. the system kept on saying that there was no update and trust me I had downloaded the .723 and deleted the vendor XML. Any ideas?
