Thread: Official: OS6.0.0.706 BlackBerry Torch 9800 from Bharti airtel Limited

Official OS 7.0.0.706 from Bharti airtel Limited has reached the BlackBerry Torch 9800 today.

If you have a Torch 9800 get out that USB cord and give your a device a fresh OS.

The .706 from New Zeland had issues with a second vendor.xml in a hidden file. Some users had issues with the second hidden file while some didn't.
I had issues and this is what I had to do:
I was having a hell of a time getting the OS to download to my Torch. After a lot of searching, I found out why.
For some reason, this release from New Zealand has a second vendor.xml file that is loaded in a hidden file. You need to go to: C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML.

I located the file by doing a search for Loader xml, including searching hidden files. I use WinXP, and when my search located the loader file, I just right clicked the file and deleted it.
The download then went without any issues.

The above information is just in case your download does not want to work correctly with this Bharti airtel Limited release.

Even if it did have the second vendor.xml file, a simple search in the "Search Programs and Files" Windows bar, find them, and delete
