Don't give up yet - I had this problem and nearly threw my Torch out of the window.

Use another Computer to load the OS from scratch.

If upgrading from another BB - do NOT bring anything over other than your bare essentials (Contacts, Tasks, Memos & Calendar). The problem is a conflict with an App or setting from your old files.

This is why I recommend using another PC other than the one you normally use to backup your device. I struggled with this problem for 3 weeks before stumbling upon the solution. I was reloading my OS sometimes twice daily - NOT FUN!! :irked:

Since I got things sorted, I have not had ONE unscheduled Boot or hung Boot.

The ONLY problem I have had with .450 is the darn Contacts bug has reared its head again. Although this time not as bad. I have all my contacts and can access them, but my other Apps (like Vlingo) can't - weird.

I did a pure upgrade to .450 from the official .246. Yes, all of the fixes listed earlier in this thread are present, but this has also introduced something new to me that's obnoxiously annoying:

* Sometimes when I open a SMS conversation it's blank
* Sometimes when I open a SMS conversation I cannot scroll back past an arbitrary point
* Sometimes when I open a SMS conversation I can't tap to open a MMS picture, I have to use the trackpad instead

For what it's worth, I've recently gotten BES-enforced content protection turned on, and that's created all kinds of performance-related issues before I even upgraded.

Has anyone else had any of these issues? I intend to try a clean wipe-and-install tonight to see if it makes any difference.

Hi guys,

I have upgrade my torch from .246 to .450
There is indeed a lot of fixes, better battery etc...But my browser not working anymore (opera does).
I know that the problem is related with service book file. I called my provider's technical support and they told me that the service book is not ready yet for the torch, and they use the 9700 service meanwhile.

Can someone advise what to do?

.450 fails in synchronization of organizer. .448 is alright. Anybody got error in organizer sync on .450......................how to fix it???

I have wiped my device and did a clean install. With nothing else running the touch keyboard works fine. As soon as I register my Gmail and Yahoo email addresses, the spacebar on the touch keyboard stops working.

I just can't figure out why...

what is the diffrent about .450 and .461 for 9700..can i use .461 into my 9800?

Usually the differences are minor, but it could be anything from UI improvements to an App update. Best thing to do is read the feedback that others are giving before downloading if you aren't comfortable with installing a leaked OS.

You can use any OS with your 9800 as long as the OS is specified to work with that device.
