Leaked: OS 6.0.0.214 for the BlackBerry Torch Findings & Fixes

Not too long ago BlackBerry Torch owners updated to the leaked OS 6.0.0.161. There were a lot of mixed reviews about this OS some claimed it to be buggy, while others boasted it was the best. Well let’s see what everyone has to say now. BBleaks has leaked OS 6.0.0.214. No Word on whether this leak is better than the previous one but I guess there is only one way to find out.

    Warning:
Please remember that this IS NOT an official release OS. If you wish to install this OS keep in mind that this may cause your phone to not function correctly. BlackberryOS and any other BlackberryOS Official sites are not responsible. If you are not comfortable and/or unsure as how to upgrade to this OS, please click the link below.

Just installed. So far, I'm loving it ... this is how the device should've been out of the box!! Don't hesitate folks, this thing is great!

    • All of the latest IM, Twitter, Podcasts, and Facebook apps are included
    • All swipe transitions are MUCH smoother, no more irritating jerkiness or lag
    • Notification bar is finally fixed; pans down immediately with no delay
    • On-screen keyboard has bigger popup balloons on keypress
    • Browser address bar now drops down properly, no more having to pan to the top of a page
    • Reboot seems quite a bit faster (but doesn't it always?)

I have not had a chance yet to see if the Favorites tray finally remembers icon locations after reboot; been too busy reinstalling everything.

Go figure! A new device-out of the box- not working properly. Go RIM. At least its not like the release of the Storm. Lol.

I'm jealous of all you Torch owners. Really wish it was released on Verizon :-(

Hope your all enjoying the 9800!

Not the biggest fan of the larger text popup keys while typing, seems to make me go slower somehow. I really liked 161 and so far see no improvement from 161 yet

I see a massive improvement from .161, namely the notification panel. That thing would hang for a dozen seconds or more sometimes while loading the various events on my device, and often would not even have all the right notification icons displayed when the panel was closed. It was literally so useless to me that I never used it.

    Downloaded Yesterday

    Hello all,
A couple of things I've noticed since down loading. the on screen keyboard is missing button outlines when in full keyboard mode (OK in reduced mode) plus I can't see the backspace & both bottom corner keys.
My Calendar icon is missing & replaced by the letters 'Q W'

Otherwise everything seems much more responsive.

    Any suggestions ?

I can't recreate either the keyboard or calendar icon issue -- both of those are perfect for me.

For what it's worth I wiped first and did an upgrade from .161 ... were you perhaps still on .141? I wonder if there is something unique to that upgrade path.

    Thanks Hodges.
I wasn't able to download the file via MegaUpload -- so I re-uploaded it to MegaUpload in 4 different formats.

this is by far the best os for the torch so far - esp if you are running bes.
fastest reboot, and everything runs faster.

they even modified the colors a bit - mainly in the call log though...

    new OS leaked .215

Now, new os 6.0.0.215 is available. it is improvement over .214 and has fixes on some issues. But, on screen key pad still has lag and some time it is frustrating. Storm2 key pad was very fast. but i am hope full that in new leaks, it would be addressed.
